Try reducing foods that increase moisture and mucus, such as dairy, sugars, and heavy or oily foods. Instead, focus on a diet rich in bitter and astringent foods like leafy greens, turmeric, neem and spices like ginger and black pepper. These help in balancing kapha and pitta, which might be instrumental in addressing the underlying conditions contributing to your infection.

For external treatment, an excellent ayurvedic remedy is to apply a paste made from turmeric and coconut oil or honey directly on the affected area. Turmeric is known for its antibacterial and antifungal properties, and coconut oil can soothe skin while also acting as a natural antifungal. Do this application daily and leave it on for about 30 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

In addition, a warm neem water bath can be beneficial. Boil neem leaves in water, let it cool slightly, and use it for bathing or to wash the affected areas. Doing this regularly might help reduce the fungal presence on your skin, giving your medicines a better chance to work.

Remember also to keep the affected area dry and clean. Change clothes regularly, especially if they become damp, and consider wearing breathable fabrics like cotton to prevent the area from getting too moist.

Lastly, while Ayurveda can complement your current treatment, it’s crucial to consult your healthcare provider before making any significant changes to your regimen. They might need to reassess and possibly adjust your medication based on how your body’s been responding. In rare cases, some infections might need a different approach altogether, which might require professional medical evaluation.
