To support better sleeping habits and possibly reduce the intensity of tinnitus, meditation, especially in calming the mind and grounding Vata, can be beneficial. Try Pranayama such as Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing). It helps not only to calm the nervous system, but also to bring balance to your doshas. Practice this each day, morning and evening, for around 10 mins, focusing on slow and deep breaths.

Incorporating a meditative practice like Yoga Nidra can also aid in relaxing your mind, potentially improving your sleep quality. Engage in this nightly before bed for deeper relaxation. It’s a guided mindfulness practice focusing on body awareness and breathing.

Furthermore, diet plays a significant role. Warm, slightly oily, and grounding foods help soothe Vata. Incorporate warm soups, cooked vegetables, and gentle spices like ginger and cumin into your meals. Reduce intake of caffeine and avoid very cold or dry foods which may exacerbate Vata.

You might also consider using a mixture of sesame oil and a few drops of garlic juice as ear drops, it’s traditionally been used in Ayurveda for ear issues, but always consult a doctor before trying something like this.
