Can gram flour actually be effective for face whitening and how should I use it? - #22346

I am bit worried about my skin lately... so I've been hearin a lot about gram flour for face whitening. My friend told me that it's like magic and works wonders! I tried it once, just mixin it with yogurt but it didn’t work as I expected. I mean, my skin felt smooth but I didn't notice any whitening effect, you know? I've got these spots from sun exposure and I feel like I need something powerful. I've seen some DIY masks and one had gram flour for face whitening combined with turmeric but I'm not sure if it’s really safe or effective. Anyone had any real success with this? I’m also confused about how often I should apply it. Daily, weekly? I don’t wanna rush and mess my skin up more! Honestly, my skin can be kinda sensitive... so mixing stuff just makes me nervous. Should I be adding anything else to the gram flour for face whitening? Like essential oils or something? If you've seen results pls share your routine! I really just want to even out my complexion without spendin too much on fancy products. Would appreciate any advice or tips; I'm just tryin to take care of my skin! Thanks!

First things first, gram flour is good for cleansing and exfoliating the skin gently, which might lead to a brighter appearance over time but it’s more about making the skin healthier rather than making it ‘whiter’. The discoloration or pigmentation seems to be your main concern, which we’d approach through balancing skin tone and reducing effects from sun exposure.

Given your sensitive skin, start with a patch test. Mix gram flour with a small quantity of water or rose water to keep it gentle. Turmeric can be added but use very little, like a pinch, to avoid staining the skin yellow. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties and can help reduce spots, but only in moderation especially for sensitive skin.

Consider incorporating a bit of honey which is soothing, and right for sensitive skin, it also has moisturizing properties. Sandalwood powder could be another option in the blend due to its cooling nature and benefits against blemishes.

For frequency, apply the mask 2 to 3 times weekly to start. Daily application might irritate sensitive skin, causing more problems than benefits.

Avoid essential oils directly in the mixture, they can be too potent and cause irritation if not used properly. If you’re interested in using them, diluting them well in a carrier such as almond oil for a separate massage could adjust the skin’s tone.

Be gentle when washing off the mixture, and always apply a moisturizer after cleansing to keep skin balanced and hydrated. Over time, this should help in overall skin health improvement without overwhelming your skin.

Lastly, remember the importance of sunscreen. Proper sun protection can prevent further spots and allow your skin to heal over time.
