I want to know on how to balance pitta dosha imbalance. Also, would like to know a way to heal acne on face and to stop recurring acne problem. It’s majorly on chin and cheeks. White postules keep coming again and again

Balancing pitta dosha, especially when acne is a concern, involves cooling practices for both body and mind. Pitta, being hot, sharp and intense by nature, is aggravated by heat, stress, spicy foods, and excessive sun exposure. Addressing these elements can naturally reduce the imbalance. Begin with dietary changes. Reduce intake of spicy, oily, and acidic foods such as chilies, pickles, and fermented foods, which can aggravate pitta. Opt instead for cooling and soothing foods like cucumber, coconut, melons, and leafy greens. Include herbs like coriander and mint in your meals.

Hydration is key. Drink coconut water and aloe vera juice to pacify pitta. Aloe vera also has skin-healing properties beneficial against acne. Daily intake of triphala at night can improve digestion and detoxification, addressing the root cause of skin problems. Drinking warm herbal teas like chamomile or fennel also aids digestion and reduces inflammation.

Create a calming skincare routine. Cleanse your face with a mild, herbal face wash, twice daily. Avoid harsh scrubs or chemical-laden products as they could increase irritation. Prepare a natural face mask with sandalwood powder and rose water; apply 3 times a week for its cooling effect on the skin. You could also use turmeric paste occasionally for its antibacterial properties, to prevent future breakouts.

In terms of lifestyle, stress management is crucial. Engage in calming activities like meditation, yoga, or pranayama. Breathing exercises, such as sheetali pranayama, can cool down the body, balancing pitta. Ensure adequate sleep and avoid overheating by too much exposure to sun or hot environments.

Identify stress factors and work on minimizing them. Pitta is aggravated by overwork and excess heat, so take breaks and rest adequately. Incorporate cooling exercises such as swimming or evening walks, rather than overly invigorating activities.

Remember, severe acne or persistent symptoms often require a more personalized approach and consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner may provide further insights based on your specific constitution and imbalances. Be gentle with your routine, as even small changes can sometimes lead to significant improvements over time.
