Malabar Thikthakam Ghritam - #29924

Victoria

I am really struggling with some skin issues and I heard a lot about Malabar Thikthakam Ghritam lately. I've tried various creams and oils, but nothing seems to work. Just last week, I even visited a dermatologist and they prescribed me some meds, but they’re not helping like I wished. My skin feels really dry and irritated, especially around my elbows and knees. I have these patches that get really flaky, and honestly, it’s been super frustrating. A friend of mine mentioned Malabar Thikthakam Ghritam as a natural option and said it’s great for skin problems like mine. I'm curious if this is really effective. Has anyone else tried Malabar Thikthakam Ghritam for similar issues? I’ve read it has some strong herbal ingredients but I’m a little hesitant because my skin is quite sensitive. Like, what if it makes it worse? Do I need to apply it continuously, or is there a special way to use Malabar Thikthakam Ghritam? I just want relief and to feel normal again without all this irritation! Any advice on that would be super appreciated. Thanks!

Malabar Thikthakam Ghritam might be an option to explore for your skin issues. This Ayurvedic preparation is known for its potential to manage skin problems, particularly those involving dryness and irritation. Its base is clarified butter (ghee) combined with various herbs like neem, turmeric and others, catering to Pitta and Kapha skin concerns. However, care must be taken, especially if your skin sensitivity is high. Being a product with ghee, it generally soothes the dryness but individual response can vary.

Before application, consider conducting a patch test. Apply a small amount of Malabar Thikthakam Ghritam on a non-affected area of your skin, like the inner arm, and observe for any adverse reactions over 24 hours. If no irritation occurs, it may be safe to proceed.

For your specific situation, the best way to apply it is to first gently cleanse the affected areas to ensure no dirt or oil will interfere with absorption. Warm the ghritam slightly, either by keeping the container in warm water just for a minute, which helps the ghee penetrate the skin better. Apply a small amount with clean hands to the dry patches twice daily morning and night for sustained relief.

Consistent use might be key here, but remember to start slow and observe how your skin reacts. Since you mention seeing a dermatologist, it’s also worth consulting them before introducing any new topical treatments, especially if you’re already using other prescribed ones.

Additionally, focus on hydrating yourself well internally by drinking lots of water and possibly including skin-friendly herbs in your diet, like aloe vera juice or amla, both known in Ayurveda for improving skin quality. Embrace a balanced diet, avoiding spicy, oily foods as these can aggravate Pitta dosha, which might worsen skin issues. Practice appropriate stress management, as stress can exacerbate skin conditions. Ultimately, personalized assessment by an Ayurvedic practitioner might provide insight specific to your Prakriti (constitution) and Vikriti (current state).

Malabar Thikthakam Ghritam can be quite effective for managing skin issues, especially ones linked with vata-pitta imbalances which can manifest as dry, itchy, and flaky skin. Your symptoms around the elbows and knees suggest an imbalance that could potentially be soothed by the properties of this Ghritam, known for its ability to pacify aggravated doshas with its cooling and soothing qualities.

Thikthakam Ghritam typically contains a blend of ghee infused with herbs like neem, kutki, and patola, which are highly beneficial for detoxifying and supporting skin health. However, since your skin is sensitive, introduce it cautiously into your routine. Begin with a patch test: apply a small amount to an unaffected area of your skin and observe for any adverse reaction over 24 hours. If well-tolerated, you can gradually start using it.

For application, you can take a small amount of the intrnal, warm it between your palms, and gently massage it onto the affected areas. Evening is usually the best time to do this, letting it absorb overnight. You can continue this nightly routine until you see improvement; provide your skin with consistent nourishment.

It’s also important to support your body’s internal balance. Consider your diet; ensure it’s rich in hydrating and cooling foods, such as cucumbers and melons, to help balance out the internal heat and dryness. You should maintain adequate hydration and avoid overly spicy or heating foods that could exacerbate your condition.

If after a few weeks there’s no improvement or if your symptoms worsen, it would be wise to consult an Ayurvedic practitioner or return to your dermatologist for further evaluation. Safety and effectiveness go hand-in-hand, so adjust your use accordingly and pay close attention to your body’s signals throughout this process.
