Androgenic alopecia, particularly when advanced, can require a comprehensive approach focusing on both diet and lifestyle adjustments. According to Ayurveda, this condition often correlates with imbalances in the Pitta and Vata doshas, potentially affecting the hair (kesa) and the bone tissue (asthi dhatu). Here are few steps comprehensively addressing this:

Start with your diet—consume foods that pacify Pitta dosha. These include cooling, raw, and juicy foods like cucumbers, melons, and leafy greens. Avoid spicy, salty, and sour foods that may aggravate Pitta. Try to include amla (Indian gooseberry) in your diet, either fresh if available or as a supplement, as it’s a potent Pitta pacifier and known for hair health benefits.

Integrate scalp massages into your routine with oils like bhringraj or amla oil. Gently massage these oils into your scalp before bed, leaving them overnight if possible, to nourish and strengthen hair follicles. Consider a weekly application of a hair mask made from fenugreek seed paste, as it rejuvenates hair naturally.

Practice daily stress management techniques like yoga, pranayama, and meditation. These can help balance Vata instability, which is often exacerbated by stress and lifestyle factors contributing to hair loss. Maintain a regular sleep schedule to support the body’s natural balance.

Consider Ayurvedic herbs like Bhringraj (Eclipta prostrata) and Ashwagandha, which supports overall vitality and can help in hair regrowth efforts. These herbs might be taken in powder or capsule form, according to the instructions on the product or as suggested by a professional.

Though Ayurveda provides powerful natural remedies, consult with a local Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized advice and to rule out any possible contraindications with previous epilepsy treatment. They can customize treatments based on your unique Prakriti (constitution) and Vikriti (current imbalances), ensuring safe integration into your health routine.

Androgenic alopecia, particularly at an advanced stage, can be challenging when it comes to regrowing hair, but there are approaches in Siddha-Ayurveda that may help support your hair health and overall scalp condition. Focusing on balancing the doshas is crucial as excess pitta and vata can often contribute to hair issues. Let’s look at some steps you can consider implementing safely within your daily routine:

1. Begin with scalp massage using Brahmi or Bhringraj oil. Warm the oil slightly and massage gently into your scalp for around 10-15 minutes thrice a week. These oils help in balancing pitta and supporting hair nourishment through deeper tissues or dhatus.

2. Consume Amla (Indian Gooseberry) which is rich in Vitamin C and can be beneficial for hair health. You can take it as a supplement or include Amla juice in your diet. This helps in cooling pitta and enhancing hair strength from the inside out.

3. Dietary shifts are important. Incorporate foods that support the creation of rasa and rakta dhatus like whole grains, leafy greens, and seasonal fruits while minimizing spicy and oily foods which may aggravate pitta.

4. Ensure your agni, or digestive fire, is well balanced as this directly impacts the health of your dhatus. Consider regular consumption of Triphala churna, taking half a teaspoon at night with warm water to support digestion and detoxification.

5. Brahmi tea can be consumed every day to assist in reducing stress levels, which may indirectly support hair health by keeping vata in check.

Make sure you’re maintaining a healthy lifestyle, getting enough sleep, and managing stress as these also contribute to overall well-being. If you’re not seeing improvement or experiencing significant distress, consulting with a professional for personalized guidance based on your specific prakriti may be necessary. Since you’ve mentioned an ongoing medical condition, continue to follow any existing medical advice regarding your epilepsy, ensuring not to discontinue or alter prescribed medicines without professional guidance.
