Hello I understand your concern — hair thinning and itchiness, especially when you already manage diabetes, high blood pressure, and cholesterol, can feel frustrating. But don’t worry we are here to help you out

✅ AYURVEDIC TREATMENT PLAN

✅INTERNAL MEDICATION

1. Arogyavardhini Vati – 1 tablet twice daily after food ( Supports liver, balances cholesterol, and purifies blood (Rakta Shuddhi).)

2. Manjishthadi Kashaya – 20 ml with equal water twice daily after food (Cleanses blood, reduces skin/scalp itching and Pitta toxins.)

3. Amalaki capsule – 1 capsule twice daily ( Nourishes hair roots, enhances hair pigment and growth.)

4. Bhringrajasava – 15 ml with equal water twice daily after food ( Strengthens scalp and hair follicles, acts as Rasayana for Kesha and liver.)

✅EXTERNAL SCALP CARE (Bahya Chikitsa)

👉 Oils and Cleansing

Use: Neelibhringadi Taila Apply 2–3 times per week, gently massage for 10 min, and wash after 1 hour with mild herbal shampoo (like Kesh Kanti, Hibiscus, or Shikakai). ( Helps reduce dandruff, itching, and strengthens follicles.)

Alternatively: Mix Coconut oil + few drops of Neem oil + Aloe vera gel and apply once weekly to soothe sweat-induced itching.

👉 Natural Hair Pack (Once Weekly)

2 tbsp Aloe vera pulp + 1 tsp Amla powder + 1 tsp Bhringraj powder + rose water Apply on scalp for 30 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water. Reduces heat, nourishes roots, and relieves itching.

✅DIETARY RECOMMENDATIONS

✅ Include:

Warm, freshly cooked food (avoid cold and stale meals). Amla, beetroot, drumstick leaves, curry leaves, sesame seeds, and cow ghee in small quantities. Triphala (½ tsp at bedtime with lukewarm water) to aid detox and bowel regulation.

❌ Avoid:

Spicy, oily, fried, or fermented foods (they increase scalp Pitta and itching). White sugar and refined flour. Excess tea, coffee, or alcohol.

✅LIFESTYLE AND RITUALS

Keep scalp clean; wash 2–3 times per week with herbal cleanser. Avoid direct hot water or harsh chemical shampoo. Yoga & Pranayama (Anulom Vilom, Sheetali) — 10 min daily to reduce heat and stress. Regular sleep (10 PM - 6 AM) helps hormonal balance and hair repair.

Wishing you healthy, strong, and itch-free hair with inner a metabolic balance.

Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

The concerns about thinning and itchy hair can be tied to both lifestyle factors and possibly the medications you’re using, especially given your existing conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Ayurvedically speaking, these ailments can be linked to imbalances in your Vata and Pitta doshas. Particularly, the itching can be aggravated by excess pitta, which is heating by nature.

For addressing hair thinning and itchiness, consider incorporating a few Ayurvedic practices into your routine. Begin with your diet, as it is fundamental in Ayurveda. Ensure you’re consuming a balanced diet rich in proteins — dal, paneer, and nuts can be good sources. Also include healthy fats like ghee and coconut oil, which nourish the scalp and hair. Avoid overly spicy, oily, or processed foods as they increase pitta and can worsen itching.

Next, try massaging your scalp with cooling oils like coconut oil or brahmi oil. Massaging improves circulation to the hair follicles and can reduce dryness caused by Vata imbalance. Do this at least twice a week, letting the oil stay for at least 1 hour before washing it off.

When it comes to shampooing, choose natural or mild shampoos without harsh chemicals. Adding a few drops of neem oil in ur usual shampoo can help soothe an itchy scalp due to its antibacterial properties.

Stress can really imbalance Vata and Pitta dosha, so incorporate practices like meditation, pranayama or yoga to manage stress levels. Aim for a maintaining consistent sleep schedule to help balance the doshas.

Finally, because you’re undergoing medical treatment for diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, it’s essential to consult with your healthcare provider before making significant changes, especially concerning supplements or drastic dietary changes. If any skin condition worsens, seeing a dermatologist is advisable.

Thinning and itchy hair can be concerning, especially with concurrent conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and hypercholesterolemia. These can affect your body’s overall balance, or doshas, especially vata and pitta. To address hair thinning, focus on nourishment and reducing heat in the scalp. Consider applying a mixture of coconut oil with some brahmi and amla powder. Warm this gently and massage it into your scalp two to three times a week. This supports the scalp health and may reduce itchiness.

About itchiness during sweating, it’s likely linked to excess pitta or heat aggravating the skin. Incorporating cooling herbs such as sandalwood paste or rosewater as a toner on the scalp may provide relief. You should also avoid spicy foods and caffeinated beverages, as these can exacerbate pitta.

Managing your diet is crucial too. Include cooling foods like cucumber, watermelon and green leafy vegetables which pacify pitta. Hydration is essential, ensuring you drink adequate water throughout the day can help flush toxins. Your agni or digestive fire needs attention. Maintaining a routine of regular meals without skipping can stabilize blood sugar, supporting both vata and kapha balance.

Considering your medications, it’s important to not change them without consulting your primary healthcare provider. Combining Siddha-Ayurvedic approaches with allopathic treatment can often be complementary, however, coordination with your healthcare team is important to prevent adverse interactions. If symptoms persist, seek advice from an Ayurvedic practitioner for a tailored treatment.
