Hello Thank you for sharing your concern. I understand how distressing it can be to experience severe hair fall and alopecia, especially after enjoying healthy, thick hair for many years. But dont worry we are here to help you out😊

The focus of treatment is to - ✅ Nourish hair roots and strengthen Asthi–Rakta dhatu ✅ Balance Vata–Kapha ✅ Detoxify the scalp and improve circulation

✅AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT

✅INTERNAL MEDICATION

1 Bhringrajasava 20 ml with equal water after food , twice daily (Rejuvenates hair follicles and strengthens roots)

2 Arogyavardhini Vati 1 tab twice daily after food (Detoxifies liver and clears Ama affecting hair growth)

3 Triphala Churna 1 tsp at bedtime with warm water (Detoxifies gut and improves nutrient absorption)

4 Amalaki Rasayana 1 tsp twice daily with warm milk (Rich in antioxidants, supports hair pigmentation)

5 Madhumehar Kwatha / Diashaman / Insulan D Continue as prescribed Maintain sugar balance to prevent dhatu kshaya

✅EXTERNAL THERAPY

✅Scalp Care & Local Treatments

👉Bhringraj Taila – Warm slightly and massage the scalp gently for 10 minutes daily before bath. – Enhances blood flow, strengthens roots, and reduces dryness.

👉Nasya (Nasal Therapy): – 2 drops of Anu Taila or Brahmi Taila in each nostril every morning after oil massage. – Nourishes hair roots through Shiras (head) and pacifies Vata.

👉Weekly Hair Pack: Mix Bhringraj powder + Amla powder + Aloe vera gel + rose water → apply on scalp for 30 minutes and rinse with herbal shampoo.

👉 For Joint Pain

Abhyanga (Full body massage) with Mahanarayan Taila followed by mild swedana (steam) once daily or 3× per week. (Balances Vata, reduces stiffness, and indirectly nourishes hair by improving circulation and metabolism.)

✅HOME REMEDIES

Drink 1 tsp Amla juice + 1 tsp Aloe vera juice daily in the morning.

Consume soaked methi seeds (1 tsp) every morning to strengthen hair and joints.

Include black sesame seeds (½ tsp) daily – rich in calcium and supports Asthi Dhatu.

Add 1 tsp desi ghee to meals – prevents dryness and balances Vata.

✅ DIET MODIFICATION

✅Include: Warm, nourishing, unctuous meals (khichdi, mung dal soup, cooked veggies) Protein-rich foods – milk, paneer, lentils, sprouts Fresh Amla, dates, figs Spices like cumin, turmeric, and fenugreek for digestion

❌Avoid: Fried, stale, and very spicy foods Excess coffee or tea Refined sugar and cold, dry foods

✅ Lifestyle (Vihara)

Avoid stress, late nights, and overthinking—these aggravate Vata. Do gentle yoga and pranayama (Anulom Vilom, Bhramari) for stress reduction and improved oxygenation. Regular head massage and meditation will rejuvenate scalp tissues. Maintain regular bowel habits with Triphala or ghee in warm milk.

With regular Ayurvedic care, balanced diet, and patience, your hair regrowth and joint strength can gradually return.

Wishing you a beautiful hair once again

Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

Considering you’re experiencing severe hair fall and alopecia along with diabetes and joint pain, it requires a comprehensive approach addressing both your dietary and lifestyle habits based on Vata-Kapha imbalance. In Ayurveda, hair health is often linked to the Asthi dhatu (bone tissue) and Meda dhatu (fat tissue), and imbalances can contribute to hair fall.

First, focus on balancing your doshas through diet. Incorporate warm, moist, and nourishing foods to pacify Vata. Include plenty of healthy fats like ghee and oils, warm bone broth, and root vegetables like carrots and sweet potatoes. Avoid dry, cold, and rough foods that increase Vata.

For your Kapha tendencies, keep foods light and minimize dairy, oily, and fried things. Spices like ginger, turmeric, cumin, and black pepper can enhance digestion (agni) and promote healthy metabolism. Stay away from refined sugars and processed foods to prevent spikes in blood sugar and avoid congestion.

On a lifestyle note, regularity with meals and sleep is crucial. Incorporate gentle, grounding yoga or mild exercises to stabilize Vata and boost circulation which might improve your hair health. Pranayama and meditation are beneficial practices to calm the mind and reduce stress, often a factor in hair fall.

For topical hair care, try a weekly scalp massage using warm coconut or sesame oil infused with herbs like amla, bhringraj, and neem. This not only nourishes hair roots but also balances Vata dosha.

Ensure to protect your scalp from cold winds, which can aggravate Vata. Additionally, wash your hair with lukewarm water as too hot or cold can damage hair follicles.

Since diabetes is a major concern, continous monitoring of your blood sugar levels is very important while taking prescribed medicines. If the hair fall persists or worsens, consult a healthcare professional to rule out any underlying conditions. Remember, tackling stress jointly might indirectly support hair regeneration.

Given your description, it is important to address both the hair fall and the underlying imbalances within your body. Hair loss often indicates an imbalance in the Vata and Pitta doshas, particularly when compounded by stress and metabolic conditions like diabetes. Diabetes can influence circulation and nutrition to the hair follicles, which may contribute to hair loss.

First, consider focusing on dietary adjustments to balance your Vata and Pitta doshas. Including warm, cooked foods like kichadi, whole grains, and favoring sweet, sour, and salty tastes can help stabilize Vata. At the same time, it’s essential to avoid excessively spicy, oily, or fried foods that may further exacerbate Pitta imbalance. Drink plenty of warm fluids to maintain hydration and support circulation.

Herbs like Bhringraj (Eclipta alba), Amla, and Brahmi can be particularly beneficial. These are often available as tonics or oils, and you can apply Bhringraj oil directly to the scalp weekly for nourishing hair growth. Amla taken regularly can help overall nourishment and support hair health due to its high vitamin C content.

For joint pain, Ashwagandha can help relieve stress and provide joint support. Ensure you continue Madhumehar Kwatha, Diashaman, and Insulan D as per your healthcare provider’s instructions, and regularly monitor your blood glucose levels.

As you’re diabetic and have experienced a significant change, it’s crucial to consult your healthcare provider or an Ayurvedic practitioner to tailor a strategy specifically for your condition and ensure the treatments harmonize with your ongoing medications.
