Seeking Ayurvedic Solutions for Eye Health and Weight Management - #43107

I am 55 and want to increase eye sight, my left eye has some cornia related problem, doctor sad that the the liquid that support cornia is going down, and it has no cure. Does ayurveda has any cure? I want to reduce fat on my stomach. What should i do? My weight is 55kg and hieght is 5 feet 4.

Dear Friend Avoid addiction if any. Avoid oily, spicy and processed foods. Regular exercise and meditation. Increase intake of raw vegetables and fruits. Tab Jivanti 2-0-2 Akshitarpan will give you early response. Triphala ghrut 5gms twice. Follow up after 4weeks.

In Ayurvedic perspective, eye health is closely related to Pitta dosha especially Alochaka Pitta. To support eye health and potentially improve your eyesight, try incorporating Triphala, a traditional herbal formulation, in your daily routine. Taking 1 teaspoon of Triphala powder with warm water before bedtime can help cleanse and nourish the eyes. Additionally, consider using Triphala eye wash by soaking the powder in water overnight, straining it and using the clear liquid to wash your eyes in morning.

It is essential to focus on a diet that supports eye health. Consuming foods rich in Vitamin A and other antioxidants can be beneficial. Incorporate carrots, spinach, amla (Indian gooseberry), and ghee (clarified butter) in your diet; they nourish the optic tissues and strengthen the eyes. Also, practicing eye exercises like palming (rubbing your palms and placing them gently on your eyes) and blinking frequently may help relieve eye strain.

For weight management, especially targeting abdominal fat, focus on balancing your Kapha dosha by adopting a diet that’s light, dry, and warming. Eating smaller, more frequent meals with emphasis on whole grains, vegetables, legumes, and lean proteins can be beneficial. Avoid processed foods, sugar, and heavy fats. Begin your day with a glass of warm lemon water to boost digestion.

Regular physical activity is also key. Incorporate at least 30 minutes of brisk walking or other cardiovascular exercises, six days a week, can aid in reducing abdominal fat effectively. Practices such as Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) in yoga are excellent for weight management and overall vitality.
