When diabetes is not under control it can disturb the tiny blood vessels of the eyes, leading to blood spots, blurred vision and heaviness in the eyes, with the right Ayurvedic support, strict sugar control and lifestyle correction, this condition can be stabilised and gradually improved .

Ayurveda works here by improving blood circulation, strengthening the eye tissues, reducing internal inflammation and helping better sugar metabolism. However, it is very important that you continue your oral diabetic medicines as advised by your physician and use Ayurveda as a supportive and corrective approach.

For internal support, the following medicines are commonly helpful in such cases.

Tablet Chandraprabha Vati 2 tablets twice daily after food with plain water. This helps in supporting sugar control and improves circulation to delicate organs like the eyes.

Tablet Triphala Guggulu 1 tablet twice daily after food with warm water. This supports blood vessel health and helps in reducing micro-bleeding tendency.

Saptamrit Lauh tablet form can be used for eye nourishment. If tablets, 1 tablet twice daily. This helps strengthen vision and eye tissues over time.

Triphala powder 1 teaspoon at night with lukewarm water. This supports digestion, detoxification and eye health together, which is very important in diabetes.

For local eye care, washing the eyes once daily in the morning with clean, cooled water in which Triphala powder was soaked overnight and filtered in the morning can be very soothing. Do not rub the eyes.

Trataka practice can be very beneficial. Sit comfortably in a calm place, keep a small candle at eye level about 2 to 3 feet away. Gaze softly at the flame without blinking for as long as comfortable, usually 20 to 30 seconds initially. Close your eyes and observe the after image. Do this for 3 to 5 rounds only. Stop immediately if you feel strain, watering or headache. This improves focus, circulation and nerve strength when practiced

Avoid late nights and excessive screen time, especially at night. Take breaks every 30 to 40 minutes if you use mobile or computer. Avoid very spicy, fried, sugary and packaged foods. Prefer freshly cooked meals, more vegetables, moderate fruits with low sugar content, and regular meal timings. Daily walking for at least 30 minutes helps sugar control and blood flow to the eyes.

Keep your blood sugar levels well monitored. Sudden fluctuations are more harmful to vision than slightly high but stable values. Regular eye check-ups are important to track healing and prevent progression.

If you stay consistent and patience for 3 to 6 months, you may notice reduced blurring, better clarity and improved comfort in the eyes.

Blood spots/floaters indicate diabetic retinopathy (leakage from retinal vessels). It can progress quickly & cause permanent vision loss if not managed promptly.

See retina specialist TODAY – get fundus exam, OCT, FFA. Early laser/injections can save vision. Tight diabetes control (HbA1c <7) is #1 priority – check with endocrinologist.

Ayurveda can help as supportive treatment (not replacement). Small studies & case reports show Ayurveda (Triphala, Amla, Nasya) can slow progression, reduce leakages & improve vision when added to modern care. No large trials prove it cures advanced retinopathy, but early/mild cases often stabilize.

Safe Ayurvedic Support (start after doctor approval) 1 Triphala Churna – 3 gm night with warm water 2 Saptamrita Loha – 250 mg morning + night with ghee+honey 3 Amla juice – 20 ml morning 4 Netra Tarpana – medicated ghee eye bath at Ayurvedic centre 5 Nasya – Anu Taila 2 drops each nostril morning

Diet Bitter gourd, fenugreek, jamun daily Avoid sugar, refined carbs

Hello,

I understand your concern, and I want to explain this to you clearly and calmly. Since you are diabetic and you are experiencing blurred vision because of blood clots / bleeding inside the eye, this is not a minor problem. When diabetes affects the eyes, the small blood vessels in the retina can become weak and bleed. That bleeding is the reason you are not able to see properly.

👉 The first and most important step is to do a fundoscopy. This is a simple eye test where the doctor looks at the back of your eye (retina).

Without this test, we cannot know: 1.How much bleeding is there 2.Whether it is mild or severe 3.Whether urgent treatment is needed

Please do not delay fundoscopy, even if the vision problem comes and goes.

Yes, Ayurvedic medicines can help, but only as supportive treatment. They help in: * Supporting eye nutritio * Improving blood vessel healt * Slowing further damage

But I want to be very honest with you: ⚠️ Ayurveda alone cannot remove existing blood clots or active bleeding quickly. If the eye doctor feels laser or injection treatment is needed, that must be done.

Ayurveda can be continued along with modern treatment, not instead of it.

Another very important point — Your blood sugar control is the foundation. If sugars are not well controlled, no medicine—Ayurvedic or modern—will work properly.

Please make sure: 1.You continue your oral diabetes medicines regularly 2.You check HbA1c (this shows 3-month sugar control) 3.Try to keep sugars within the target advised by your physician

What I advise you to do now: 1.Get a fundoscopy done as soon as possible 2.Follow your diabetes treatment strictly 3.Avoid eye strain (mobile, TV, reading for long time) 4.Avoid sweets, bakery items, and late-night meals 5.Once the fundoscopy report is available, we can decide:

Whether Ayurvedic medicines are safe to start Which medicines will be helpful for your stage How to prevent further vision loss Please remember, early action can protect your eyesight. If you want, you can share the fundoscopy report, and I will guide you step by step.

Warm regards Dr.Sumi MS(Ayu)

Hello I get why you’re worried. Vision problems, especially with diabetes and those blood spots messing with your sight, can be really scary. But seriously, Ayurveda can totally help. Sp dont worry we are here to help you out 😊

YOUR CONCERN –You’re 60 years old. –You’re taking pills for your diabetes. –You’ve got blood spots or clots in your eyes, making it hard to see, and it’s been going on for 1 to 6 months.

This really points to something like diabetic retinopathy or bleeding in your retina. We need to deal with this quickly and consistently.

AYURVEDIC UNDERSTANDING

–Prameha (Diabetes):This is that sugar imbalance that’s been hanging around too long. –Rakta Dushti (impure blood): Basically, your blood isn’t as clean as it should be. –Pitta aggravation: This is what makes you prone to bleeding in your eyes. –Sira / Netra srotas dushti: Think of this as damage to the tiny blood vessels in your eyes. –Weak Ojas: Your body isn’t getting enough good nourishment.

👉 The goal with Ayurveda is to stop things from getting worse, get your blood flowing better, make those eye vessels stronger, and help your vision, all while helping you manage your sugar.

IMPORTANT NOTE

–If your eye doctor says you need urgent laser or injections, Ayurveda can’t replace that. – And whatever you do, don’t just suddenly stop your diabetes meds

👉 Ayurveda works as a backup and a way to fix things. For a lot of people, it helps keep their vision steady and stops it from getting worse.

TREATMENT goals

–Keep your blood sugar in check, strictly. – Get that blood moving better in your retina. – Lessen the bleeding. –Make your eye tissues stronger. – Stop your vision from getting worse. – Boost your energy overall.

AYURVEDIC PLAN

INTERNAL MEDICATION

1.Triphala Ghrita Take half a teaspoon with warm water or milk at bedtime. It nourishes your optic nerve, helps your retina heal, and makes your vision clearer.

2. Saptamrit Lauha Take 1 tablet twice a day after meals. This is a classic for eye problems. It helps your retina and your blood (hemoglobin) and tiny blood flow.

3 Chandraprabha Vati Take 2 tablets twice a day after meals. Helps with diabetes control, gets blood flowing, and reduces problems from diabetes.

2. SPECIAL TREATMENTS

–Netra Tarpana –Shirodhara –Mild Virechana (Under the supervision of docter)

👉 These treatments nourish your eyes and calm down that Pitta, but we won’t do them if your retina is bleeding.

DIET MODIFICATION

❌ABSOLUTELY AVOID:

* Sugar, sweets, jaggery * Fried and spicy food * Alcohol * Smoking * Late-night meals * Too much screen time

✅EAT DAILY:

* Bitter veggies (like bottle gourd, bitter gourd) * Amla (fresh or powder) * Green leafy veggies * Whole grains (not too much) * Warm water all day * Small, regular meals

👉 Keeping your blood sugar in line is the number one thing for your eyesight.

EYE CARE ROUTINE: * Don’t strain your eyes. * Gently palm your eyes every day. * Shield your eyes from bright sun. * Get enough sleep (before 11 PM).

WE NEED TO KEEP AN EYE ON: * Your blood sugar (fasting and after meals) regularly. * Your HbA1c (aim for under 7). * Your eye fundus. * Your blood pressure and cholesterol.

WHAT YOU CAN REALLY EXPECT: ✔️ Ayurveda helps stop things from getting worse. ✔️ It helps those small bleeds clear up over time. ✔️ Your eyes will get stronger and clearer little by little. ❌ We can’t guarantee a complete fix for really bad damage.

The sooner and more consistently you treat it, the better the results.

Yes, Ayurvedic medicine can lend a hand, but: –It works best with regular eye care. – Controlling your sugar is the base of everything. – You need to be patient and stick with it.

Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate
