White patches on the skin, referred to as Shwitra or Kilasa in Ayurveda (commonly associated with vitiligo or leucoderma), result from vitiation of all three doshas, primarily Pitta along with Rakta dhatu (blood) and Mamsa dhatu (muscle tissue). This condition can be managed through a combination of internal purification, dietary modifications, and rejuvenation therapies.

Permanent Solution in Ayurveda 1. Shodhana Chikitsa (Detoxification):

Virechana (Purgation Therapy): Under the guidance of an Ayurvedic physician, undertake a Virechana treatment with herbs like Trivrit or Avipattikar Churna to detoxify Pitta from the body. Raktamokshana (Bloodletting): Leech therapy or other forms of bloodletting can help purify the blood in localized patches. 2. Herbal Remedies:

Bakuchi Churna (Psoralea corylifolia): Mix 1/4 tsp of Bakuchi powder with 1 tsp of honey or warm water and take once daily. Apply Bakuchi oil externally on the white patches. Caution: Start with a small dose and patch test the oil as it may cause irritation in sensitive individuals. Khadirarishta: 20 ml twice daily after meals with an equal amount of water. Purifies blood and balances Pitta. Manjistha Churna (Rubia cordifolia): 1 tsp with warm water or honey daily. Helps in improving skin pigmentation and purifying blood. Arogyavardhini Vati: 1 tablet twice daily after meals with warm water. Supports digestion, detoxification, and liver function. Neem (Nimba): Take Neem Churna or tablets (1 tsp or 1 tablet) with water daily. Detoxifies the blood and supports skin health. 3. Rasayana Therapy (Rejuvenation):

Use Chyawanprash daily (1 tsp with warm milk). Shatavari Kalpa or Ashwagandha Churna can help rebuild strength and immunity. Dietary Modifications (Pathya): Include: Freshly prepared and easily digestible foods. Leafy vegetables, whole grains, and natural oils like cow’s ghee. Cooling fruits like pomegranate, papaya, and amla. Avoid: Sour, spicy, and fermented foods (e.g., tamarind, curd, and pickles). Non-vegetarian food and seafood. Excessive salt and white sugar. Lifestyle Recommendations (Vihara): Practice Yoga and Pranayama, especially Anulom Vilom and Bhramari. Avoid excessive sun exposure, but ensure moderate sunlight for Vitamin D. Maintain a regular sleep schedule to support immunity. Additional Notes: This is a chronic condition, and consistency in following Ayurvedic therapies and diet is essential for gradual improvement.
