Doctors' responses

Musta is a good herb for digestion and toxin balance, and since you are seeing some improvement, it can be continued. However, in a 15-year-old, especially with autism and other medications, dose and tolerance are very important. You can give Musta powder, but keep the dose mild and observe carefully. Too much can sometimes dry the system and affect digestion. Also, ammonia-related irritation is often linked with gut imbalance, so improving digestion and bowel regularity is key. Keep diet simple, avoid processed and high-protein heavy foods if they worsen symptoms. Ensure proper hydration. Musta churna – ¼ to ½ teaspoon twice daily after food with warm water Trivrit lehya – small quantity (as already taking) at bedtime If irritability increases, reduce dose or pause. Since your child is on other medications, it is better to keep coordination with your doctor while continuing long term. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)
