Hello, While Anu Thailam is primarily a classical Ayurvedic formulation for Nasya (nasal administration) to treat supra-clavicular diseases, it is indeed considered effective for controlling hair fall. According to Ayurveda, the nose is the gateway to the head (Nasa Hi Shiraso Dwaram). Anu Thailam works on hair fall through several mechanisms: Nasal administration stimulates the olfactory nerves and the blood circulation to the brain and scalp. Improved microcirculation ensures that hair follicles receive better nutrition. Hair fall is often attributed to an imbalance of Vata (dryness/brittleness) and Kapha (blockage of follicles). The oil’s base and herbs (like Jivanti and Devadaru) penetrate the channels to clear blockages and nourish the scalp. Modern Ayurvedic perspective suggests that Nasya can influence the endocrine system via the pituitary-hypothalamic axis, helping balance hormones that indirectly affect hair health. In Ayurveda, hair is considered a byproduct (Upadhatu) of the bone tissue (Asthi Dhatu). Hair fall usually indicates high Pitta or weak Asthi Dhatu nutrition. 1. Anu Thailam (For Nasya) Dose: Instill 2 drops in each nostril daily in the morning on an empty stomach. It clears the cranial channels and strengthens hair roots from within. 2. Kesini Oil (External Application) Dose: Massage gently into the scalp 30 minutes before washing, 3 times a week. This contains Brahmi and Amla to cool the scalp and reduce Pitta-induced hair loss. 3. MahaThikthakam Ghrutham (Internal) Dose: 1 teaspoon with warm water on an empty stomach in the morning. This purifies the blood and balances the internal heat that causes hair thinning.
