Considering your existing condition with cervical spondylitis and associated symptoms, Karna Poorna can be beneficial but should be approached with care. This Ayurvedic therapy involves filling the ear with herbal oil to address issues like vertigo and balance issues. However, it’s advisable to consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner before starting this at home, especially due to the complexity of your condition.

If deemed suitable, the typical oil used for Karna Poorna is either warm sesame oil or medicated oils like Anu Taila or Bilva Taila, depending on the specific needs of your dosha imbalance. Sesame oil is universally balancing and can act as a good starting point since it is deeply nourishing and helps pacify Vata dosha, often implicated in vertigo and imbalance.

For practical application, warm a few drops of the chosen oil (ensure it’s comfortably warm, not hot), and use a dropper to apply about 5-10 drops into each ear. Allow it to stay in the ear canal for around 5-10 minutes, and then tilt your head to let it drain out onto a towel. This is best performed lying on your side and doing one ear at a time.

Frequency generally might depend on the severity of symptoms and your response to the procedure. Starting with 2-3 times a week can be reasonable, but remember it should be tailored based on individual reaction and needs. Ensure a calm environment, and avoid any disturbances during the process.

Your diet and lifestyle are also crucial in managing Vata and related symptoms. Ensure a Vata-pacifying diet with warm, moist, and grounding foods, avoid cold and dry items, and maintain good hydration. Gentle exercise that won’t distress the cervical region, like walking or light yoga, can also promote balance. Remember, this information is only a general guideline; a personalized approach considering your complete health history is essential. Always prioritize your safety and consult professionals when needed.
