In ayurveda AF is considered to be disturbance in vata dosha,it’s heart rate now is totally normal, do not quit medications until unless the cardiologist advice him to do so, There is no particular treatment in ayurveda for AF but to strengthen heart muscles and improve circulation Gehenna can take Arjuna aristha- 4 tsp with equal quantity of water twice daily after food Ashwagandha capsule- once daily with warm milk Avoid caffeine Eat warm, freshly cooked vegetarian meals Avoid dry, cold, leftover, or processed foods Use ghee (small amount) Add garlic, ginger, and turmeric in small amounts to meals

In Ayurveda, addressing atrial fibrillation involves looking at the individual’s unique constitution and imbalances, particularly focusing on Vata dosha. Atrial fibrillation relates to an imbalance in Vata dosha, affecting the heart rhythm. While the primary treatment should always be under the guidance of a cardiologist, Ayurveda can offer supportive care to help balance Vata and strengthen the heart.

First thing is to incorporate a Vata-pacifying diet and lifestyle. This can involve warm, cooked, and nourishing foods that are mildly spiced, avoiding cold, dry, and raw foods which may aggravate Vata. Consuming foods like cooked vegetables, whole grains such as rice and quinoa, and spices like cumin, coriander, and turmeric can be beneficial.

Ginger and garlic can be very supportive for heart health, aiding in healthy circulation and digestion. However, it’s important he talks with his doctor regarding any herbal supplements to avoid interactions with his current medication.

Practices like Pranayama (breathing exercises) can calm the nervous system and reduce stress that might be impacting heart rhythm. Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) is particularly useful for calming Vata. It should be done with slow and deep breaths, preferably in the morning or after meditation. Gentle yoga and meditation can also support mental peace and emotional balance, contributing to overall wellness.

Offering herbal support, Arjuna (Terminalia arjuna) is known in Ayurveda for promoting heart health, but again, it’s crucial to discuss with his healthcare provider regarding any new supplement or herb, especially considering current medications.

Focusing on regularity in daily routines can also help stabilize Vata. Encourage going to bed and waking up at the same time every day, along with regular meal times.

Hydration is key, alongside reducing or avoiding alcohol and caffeine, which can provoke Vata.

Always integrate these practices with caution and in consultation with his Ayurveda physician and cardiologist to ensure alignment with any ongoing treatments and interventions. The holistic combination of a disciplined lifestyle, proper diet, and stress management alongside conventional care can be very supportive. Health is a balance, and requires a mindful approach that respects both ancient wisdom and modern science.
