Bloating - #21987

Khanjan

Here's a grammatically correct and clearer version of your message: --- My son is 25 years old and currently living in Canada. He is working there and also goes to the gym regularly. His concern is about bloating after eating. Whenever he exercises, his stomach feels flat and soft. However, as soon as he eats something—even low-calorie, homemade food—he experiences bloating, and his stomach appears enlarged again. Please suggest any homemade remedies he can try in Canada.

Bloating can be pretty frustrating, can’t it? Now, your son’s situation might be linked to his digestive fire, or “Agni,” as Ayurveda puts it, which might be out of balance. This common issue can stem from so many factors, including eating habits, and stress levels living in a new place like Canada. Let’s try to pin down some simple ayurvedic recommendations he can implement right from home.

First off, sipping warm water throughout the day can be immensely helpful. It’s a simple practice, but it does wonders for increasing and balancing digestive fire. He should aim to drink that during meals and see if it makes any difference.

Second, exploring spices like ginger can be quite beneficial. He can grate a small piece of fresh ginger, add a few drops of lemon juice, and maybe a pinch of rock salt, and consume this mix about 15-20 minutes before meals. Ginger is considered a ‘hot’ spice and helps tackle indigestion and bloating by kickstarting the digestive juices.

Also, the practice of “eating mindfully” is vital. Encourage him to eat slowly and focus on chewing his food thoroughly, making sure he’s not distracted by electronic devices. Eating in a calm, collected state aids in proper digestion.

Another thing, he should pay attention to food combinations. Ayurveda suggests avoiding mixing protein with starch in large amounts in one meal which might be contributing to his bloating. Sticking to simple, cooked meals instead of raw or heavily processed ones would be a better course of action.

Lastly, it might also mean keeping stress levels in check. He can try regular yoga or pranayama exercises to manage stress more effectively, helping his digestive system. If things persist or feel severe, it’s always a good idea to seek a healthcare professional’s advice.

So there you go, see how these suggestions work out for him!
