Steamed rice + moong dal khichdi with ghee
Bananas, papaya (if no acidity) — soft fruits help hydration

The symptoms you’re describing – dryness of throat and lips, along with constipation – suggest a possible Vata imbalance. In Ayurveda, Vata dosha governs dryness and movement in the body, and when out of balance, it can lead to the issues you’re experiencing. Here are a few recommendations you might find helpful.
Firstly, enhance your water intake by adding a pinch of rock salt or a few drops of lemon juice to your water. This can help improve absorption and hydration. But ensure not to over-consume lemon juice as it may aggravate Pitta. Also consider sipping on herbal teas such as fennel tea or cumin-coriander-fennel (CCF) tea, as they help in hydrating and balancing Vata.
For your constipation, start your day with 1 teaspoon of soaked overnight flaxseeds; chewing them well in the morning provides lubrication within the gut. Triphala, a classical Ayurvedic formulation, is known for balancing all three doshas and promoting digestive health. You can take 1 teaspoon of Triphala powder with warm water before bedtime, which will aid in bowel movements.
Diet-wise, focus on incorporating warm, cooked foods that are easy to digest, such as soups, stews, porridges – anything gently warming. Avoid dry and rough foods like crackers or salads, which may aggravate Vata. Adding a teaspoon of ghee to your meals can provide internal lubrication. Consume plenty of grounding herbs and spices like ginger, cinnamon, fennel, and cardamom, as they aid digestion and balance Vata.
Establish a consistent sleep routine, going to bed by 10 PM and creating a calming atmosphere if possible. Practicing deep breathing or meditation before bed can aid sleep quality. An evening ritual like applying warm sesame oil to your body, particularly the feet, can be grounding for Vata and improve sleep.
Avoid exposure to cold, dry, and windy environments as much as possible, as these can increase dryness in your system. Rest will help combat Vata imbalance as well. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a healthcare professional to explore further medical support.
