Diabetes is a metabolic disease. Holistic intervention is crucial. For managing your type 2 diabetes alongside existing conditions, here’s a brief Ayurvedic approach:
Ayurvedic Tips: Diet: Avoid sugar and refined carbs. Focus on light, warm meals with whole grains and vegetables. Drink bitter gourd juice (30 ml) on an empty stomach daily. Soak 1 tsp of fenugreek seeds overnight and eat in the morning. Herbal Remedies: Gudmar: Take 1-2g after meals to help control blood sugar. Amla: Consume 1 tsp of powder or juice daily to support glucose metabolism. Lifestyle: Practice Pranayama and walk daily for 30 minutes. Continue your prescribed medication and consult your doctor before adding new supplements. For further guidance please consult me.
To help manage type 2 diabetes naturally through Ayurveda, several herbal remedies can support blood sugar control alongside your current lifestyle. Fenugreek seeds (Methi) are highly effective in lowering blood sugar when taken regularly; soak them overnight and consume them on an empty stomach in the morning. Vijaysar (Pterocarpus marsupium) is known for its potent anti-diabetic properties and can be taken as a herbal supplement or by soaking wood from the Vijaysar tree in water overnight and drinking it in the morning. Triphala, a combination of amalaki, bibhitaki, and haritaki, can help detoxify the body and improve digestion, which may assist in regulating blood sugar levels. Additionally, Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) and Bitter Gourd (Karela) juice are highly beneficial for improving insulin sensitivity and reducing post-meal glucose spikes. Alongside these remedies, regular intake of turmeric with a pinch of black pepper in warm water can also help manage blood sugar by reducing inflammation and promoting overall health. Incorporating these Ayurvedic treatments with a Pitta-pacifying diet and regular exercise can support better glucose control and overall well-being. Be sure to consult an Ayurvedic practitioner before starting any new regimen.
It can be challenging managing type 2 diabetes especially with other chronic conditions in play. You’re on Metformin and Asiglia, but still seeing those sugar spikes. First, let’s talk a bit on your meals, 'cause they play a big role.
With Ayurveda, balancing your diet is key. Try incorporating more whole grains like quinoa or barley, they’re more gradual energy releasers compared to refined stuff. Avoid refined sugar, switch to natural sweeteners like raw honey if you really need a fix—small amounts though. Oats and legumes are great, they can help stabilize sugar levels due to high fiber content.
In terms of herbal support, fenugreek seeds (methi) come in handy. You can soak them overnight and consume in the morning, or just use it as a spice in your meals. Bitter gourd (karela) juice might sound unappetizing but it’s effective, try about 30ml first thing in the morning.
Since you’re dealing with hypertension too, a concious effort to lower salt intake might help—stick to rock salt when you need some flavor. And ensure you’re staying active, even light walking after meals helps. Oh, and when it comes to spices for arthritis, turmeric with black pepper improves absorption—it’s great for inflammation but do check it doesn’t clash with any meds you’re on.
But, on the medication front, altering or adding pills—like maybe glimepiride or something, ought to be discussed with your doc. They can understand any interactions with other meds you’re taking. If these spikes continue, definitely loop them in. They’re best suited to manage the clinical side.
Sleep and stress management are not to be ignored. Try yoga or meditation, they play a subtle yet powerful role in balancing doshas. Keep checking those glucose levels regularly too. Real holistic approach, combining the best of modern and ancient knowledge, might just give you the control you need.
Be well!
