Hi this can a general Ayurvedic Prescription for Postpartum Weight Loss
Simple medication-
Triphala Churna: Take 1 teaspoon with warm water before bed to aid digestion, metabolism, and gentle detoxification.
Shatavari Powder: Take 1 teaspoon with warm milk twice daily to support breastfeeding, balance hormones, and improve metabolism.
Dietary Guidelines:
Warm, Light Meals: Focus on warm, easy-to-digest foods like soups, stews, and kitchari to balance Kapha dosha and improve metabolism. Don’t starve as that will impact breast feeding.
Spices: Use digestive spices like cumin, turmeric, cinnamon, and ginger to boost metabolism and reduce water retention.
Avoid Cold and Heavy Foods: Minimize cold foods, dairy, and processed foods, as they aggravate Kapha and slow digestion.
Lifestyle Practices:
Postpartum Yoga: Engage in gentle yoga and pranayama to increase circulation and reduce Kapha. Focus on postures like Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation). Start with 5 per day, increase the count gradually.
Dry Brushing: Massage the body with a dry brush before showering to stimulate lymphatic circulation and improve fat metabolism.
Hydration:
Drink warm water or herbal teas throughout the day. Consider ginger or cumin water to help boost digestion and fat burning.
Additional Tips:
Breastfeeding: Continue breastfeeding, as it naturally helps with weight loss.
Rest: Ensure adequate rest, as stress and lack of sleep can hinder weight loss.
This holistic approach will help balance Kapha dosha and support healthy postpartum weight loss while maintaining energy for breastfeeding. Consult me or any other Ayurvedic doctor for ongoing support and adjustments.

Managing weight postpartum can be challenging, especially when you're breastfeeding and adjusting to changes in your body. To support your weight loss journey, consider adopting a holistic approach that includes a balanced diet rich in whole foods, such as fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins like legumes and fish. Incorporating healthy fats from sources like ghee, avocados, and nuts can provide necessary energy and support milk production. It's essential to practice portion control and eat mindfully, focusing on your hunger cues.
To enhance your weight loss efforts, you may consider Ayurvedic formulations such as Kanchanar Guggulu and Triphala Churna. Kanchanar Guggulu is known for its ability to support metabolism and help in weight management, particularly when combined with lifestyle changes. Triphala Churna can aid digestion and detoxification, making it beneficial for overall gut health and weight loss. Additionally, incorporating Guggulu and Vishnutailam into your routine can support metabolic health.
Staying well-hydrated is crucial; aim for plenty of water throughout the day, and consider herbal teas like Moringa tea or Ginger tea, which can help boost metabolism and improve digestion. Engaging in gentle exercises that fit your energy levels, such as walking, yoga, or postnatal fitness classes, is important, along with prioritizing sleep and stress management, as both significantly affect weight loss.
Remember that postpartum weight loss takes time, so be patient with yourself and focus on gradual, sustainable changes rather than quick fixes. If you find it difficult to lose weight, consulting a healthcare professional or a registered dietitian specializing in postpartum nutrition can provide personalized guidance. By combining these Ayurvedic formulations with a mindful approach, you can effectively work toward your weight loss goals while ensuring the well-being of both you and your baby during breastfeeding.

Okay, so you're dealing with some stubborn weight loss after giving birth. It's totally normal; your body has undergone a big change, and it needs some time to recalibrate. You mentioned the caloric intake and the specifics about your diet, which is a good start, but remember, from an Ayurvedic perspective, weight loss isn't just about counting calories. It's deals more with balancing doshas and strengthening your agni, or digestive fire.
After childbirth, especially while breastfeeding, Kapha dosha could become predominant, contributing to extra weight. Also, your digestive fire might be a bit weak (Mandagni), affecting metabolism. So first things first, let's focus on balancing these aspects.
Include ginger tea in your routine; sip it warm to enhance digestion. You can make it by boiling a few slices of fresh ginger in water. This can help to kindle the agni without being harsh. Also, try incorporating spices like cumin, mustard seeds, and turmeric in your meals—they're great for digestion and naturally boost metabolism.
Keep your meals light in the evening. Eating a bigger meal at lunch when agni is at its peak is beneficial. A moon dal soup or broth-based vegetable soup in evening could help and is nutritious too.
Activity is next. Gentle exercises like walking and some yoga postures (check for ones that are safe post-delivery) would keep your energy channels open, aiding in balancing doshas.
Don’t ignore rest. Make sure you're sleeping enough whenever possible. I know, easier said than done with a new kiddo, right? But rest is important for managing stress, which impacts weight and hormones a lot.
Lastly, with breastfeeding, your body needs energy and nutrients, so don't rush or stress over quick weight loss. It's a gradual path. Stay hydrated with warm fluids and check your emotions too—emotional wellness is a key part in Ayurveda. Gently ask yourself how you're feeling mentally and emotionally.
If you're facing any unusual symptoms or severe issues, do consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner or healthcare provider who can give personalized advice based on your Prakriti (constitution).
Hope it helps, and be gentle to yourself on this journey!
