Impetigo - #16997
A week ago, I noticed small red sores on my face near my nose and chin. At first, I thought it was just a regular rash or irritation, but within a day, the sores turned into blisters and started oozing a yellowish fluid before crusting over. After searching online, I came across impetigo, and my symptoms seem to match exactly. The blisters are not extremely painful, but they are itchy, and I’m worried about them spreading further. I have a 4-year-old daughter, and she also developed similar sores on her hands and around her mouth. This makes me think I might have passed impetigo to her, or she might have been the one to pass it to me. She goes to preschool, so maybe she picked it up there? We both wash our hands regularly, but I didn’t realize how contagious impetigo could be until I read about it. I want to avoid strong antibiotics or chemical-based creams if possible. Can Ayurveda help treat impetigo naturally? Are there specific herbs or home remedies that can speed up healing and prevent the infection from spreading? I’ve read that neem and turmeric have antibacterial properties—can they be applied directly to the sores, or should they be consumed internally? Also, does diet play a role in preventing and treating impetigo? Should we avoid certain foods that might worsen the infection? I’m also concerned about scarring—do Ayurvedic remedies help with reducing marks left behind by impetigo? I really need advice on how to stop this from spreading further in my family. Any recommendations for herbal treatments, lifestyle changes, or prevention tips would be greatly appreciated.
