ampulla - #17453
A few weeks ago, my cousin was diagnosed with some kind of blockage in the ampulla, and the doctor said it was affecting his digestion. We had never even heard of the ampulla before, so this was completely new for us. From what we understood, it's some kind of structure in the digestive system where bile and pancreatic juices mix before going into the intestine. The doctor said the blockage might be due to gallstones or some kind of inflammation, but they need to do more tests. The problem started with him feeling heavy after meals, like food wasn't digesting properly. Then he started getting sharp pain in the upper abdomen, sometimes radiating to his back. He also had nausea on and off, and there were days when he would vomit after eating even a little. The worst part was when his skin started looking yellowish, and his eyes had a slight yellow tint. That's when the doctor suspected there was an issue with the ampulla and bile flow. They are suggesting an endoscopy to check what’s going on inside, but we’re worried about invasive procedures. We were wondering if Ayurveda has any natural ways to support the ampulla and help clear blockages? Are there any herbs or treatments that can help with bile flow and digestion? Could this be a Pitta imbalance since it’s related to bile? Also, what kind of foods should he be eating or avoiding to prevent further issues with the ampulla? He has already stopped eating fried and heavy foods, but are there specific Ayurvedic recommendations to heal the digestive system and improve bile flow? If anyone has dealt with this before, please share what worked.
