Hi Reecha, Hair loss after childbirth is often caused by hormonal changes, particularly a drop in estrogen levels, which leads to temporary shedding (postpartum shedding). Nutritional deficiencies (iron, vitamins, and minerals), stress, and thyroid imbalances can also contribute to thinning hair. Additionally, genetics may play a role, and if there's a family history of hair thinning or baldness, it may become more pronounced after pregnancy. Balancing stress, improving nutrition, and consulting with a healthcare provider can help address these issues. 1. Can you tell me if you’re experiencing any stress, changes in your diet, or sleep patterns since your delivery? 2. Also, do you have any other symptoms like fatigue, hormonal imbalances, or skin changes? 3. Hair loss after childbirth can sometimes be linked to hormonal changes, stress, or nutritional deficiencies, and addressing these factors could help improve hair health.

Namaste, Your symptoms suggest aggravated Pitta and Vata doshas, often seen postpartum. Excess Pitta can weaken hair roots, cause greying, and lead to inflammation, while aggravated Vata causes dryness, thinning, and dandruff. Post-delivery, Rasa Dhatu (nutrient plasma) depletion can also weaken hair. Diet Eat warm, nourishing foods like ghee, milk, and fresh vegetables. Include foods rich in iron, calcium, and healthy fats like sesame seeds, almonds, and leafy greens. Avoid spicy, fried, and processed foods that increase Pitta. Stay hydrated with warm water and herbal teas. Herbs Take Amla (Indian Gooseberry) for cooling Pitta and rejuvenating hair. Bhringraj and Brahmi are beneficial for hair growth. Apply Triphala powder for internal cleansing if digestion is sluggish. Hair Care Massage the scalp with Bhringraj or Coconut oil mixed with a few drops of Neelibhringadi oil 3-4 times a week. Use a gentle herbal shampoo. Avoid chemical-based hair products. Apply a hair mask using Amla, Brahmi, and Aloe Vera once a week. Lifestyle Practice Abhyanga (self-massage) with warm oil to calm Vata. Ensure 7-8 hours of sleep. Lack of sleep aggravates hair fall. Manage stress through yoga, meditation, or Pranayama. Avoid frequent hair washing and exposure to harsh sun. If the hair fall persists, consult an Ayurvedic Vaidya locally for a tailored approach. With consistent care, your hair can regain its strength and vitality. Namaste.
