Doctors’ responses
Namaste,
Your symptoms suggest aggravated Vata dosha and weak Agni. Chronic pain, fatigue, and reduced mobility indicate Vata Vyadhi. The stagnant weight and low energy suggest Mandagni and possible Ama accumulation. The body needs nourishment and balance rather than strain.
Eat warm, freshly cooked meals.
Use ghee and sesame oil for strength and lubrication.
Favor well-cooked vegetables, mung dal, and khichadi.
Add digestive spices like ginger, cumin, and turmeric.
Avoid cold, dry, and processed foods.
Practise intermittent fasting if manageable.
Take Gandharva haritaki at bedtime with warm water to cleanse.
Perform Abhyanga (self-massage) with warm sesame oil daily.
Practice gentle yoga and Pranayama like Anulom Vilom and Bhramari.
Prioritize rest and maintain a consistent sleep schedule.
Drink warm milk with a pinch of nutmeg or turmeric at bedtime.
Avoid
Cold weather and dry environments.
Overexertion and intense workouts.
Irregular eating and sleeping habits.
Mental stress, which worsens Vata.

Hi,
Can you describe where exactly you feel pain most often (back, legs, or elsewhere), and if it gets worse at specific times or after certain activities? Also, have you noticed any changes in your appetite, sleep, or mood recently? Improving your energy might involve a combination of gentle exercises, diet, and lifestyle changes, alongside proper treatment for pain relief.

The situation you're describing, with chronic pain and lack of energy, can be challenging to deal with, especially when it limits mobility. Seems like your Vata and Kapha doshas might be imbalanced, according to Ayurveda. The Vata could be increasing pain and stiffness, while Kapha may be contributing to the heaviness and weight issues.
Firstly, keep up with the gentle yoga. Even if it's hard, it's better to adapt than stop completely. Shorter, frequent sessions might be more manageable. Focus on Asanas like Cat-Cow, Forward Bend, and gentle twists that can help with pain and also promote circulation.
For diet, consider warm, nourishing foods to balance Vata, like soups and stews. Avoid cold and heavy foods that can aggravate Kapha. Start your day with warm water and lemon, it aids digestion and weight. Use spices like ginger, turmeric, and black pepper, they’re good for digestion and inflammation.
Don't underestimate the power of regular routine; try to wake and sleep at same time daily. Sleep helps to rejuvenate both body and mind. Avoiding screen time before bed could give better rest.
For your back pain specifically, an Ayurvedic massage with warm oil like Mahanarayan oil might help, done just before bath. It can soothe the pain and nourish tissues.
And oh, mind your mind! Stress can worsen your symptoms, so consider pranayama or meditation daily, even for a few minutes. Breathing exercises can bring a bit of energy back and also peace.
Finally, I suggest consulting with a healthcare professional to rule out any underlying conditions, especially for your energy and weight issues. These recommendations might not be a substitute but can support well-being alongside other treatments.
