Hello Natasha, Continuous bleeding could indicate an imbalance in your hormonal or uterine health, often related to excess Pitta or Vata doshas in Ayurveda. Since you have hypothyroidism, it’s also possible that hormonal imbalances are contributing to the bleeding. While the medication you’re using provides temporary relief, Ayurveda focuses on balancing your hormones and strengthening the uterine lining. Herbs like Ashoka, Lodhra, and Shatavari can help regulate the menstrual cycle and reduce excessive bleeding. Additionally, dietary adjustments that include warm, nourishing foods and avoiding cold or heavy foods can support your overall health. It would be helpful to know if you’ve had any recent tests related to your thyroid function, such as TSH or free T4 levels, and if there are any underlying issues like fibroids or cysts that may be contributing to the bleeding. How is your digestion, stress levels, and overall energy? These factors can also affect your menstrual health.

Hi Natasha Your continuous bleeding (Menorrhagia) suggests an underlying hormonal imbalance, uterine fibroids, endometrial issues, or perimenopause. Since Tranexamic Acid (Cytokaplon) is only giving temporary relief, I would suggest you to undergo u/s whole abdomen,CBC and THYROID PROFILE,before starting the treatment

From an Ayurvedic perspective, your symptoms suggest a potential imbalance in the vata and pitta doshas that could be affecting your reproductive system. Continuous bleeding, known as Asrigdara, may arise from various factors, including stress, diet, and lifestyle, and it’s important to address both the symptoms and the root cause.

To begin, focus on a vata-pacifying and pitta-balancing diet. Include warm, nourishing foods like cooked vegetables, whole grains (such as rice and oatmeal), and healthy fats like ghee and sesame oil. Avoid excessively spicy, sour, and salty foods which can exacerbate pitta. Drinking warm herbal teas like ginger or cinnamon can be soothing.

Yoga and pranayama can be helpful to bring balance. Gentle poses such as Supta Baddha Konasana (Reclining Bound Angle Pose) may support reproductive health by increasing circulation. Daily practices like anulom vilom pranayama can help calm the mind, reduce stress, and maintain dosha balance.

Herbal remedies may also offer support. Ashoka (Saraca asoca) is traditionally used in Ayurveda for bleeding-related issues. Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) can nourish the reproductive tissues and enhance hormonal balance. Consult with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner who can provide specific dosage instructions tailored to your individual constitution and needs.

A mindful daily routine, or dinacharya, would also benefit you. Wake early, allow regular meals, adequate rest, and maintain a consistent sleep schedule. Limit screen time and other stress-inducing factors.

However, given the continuous nature of your bleeding, it’s crucial to continue consulting with your gynecologist to rule out any underlying medical conditions that might require immediate attention. The Ayurvedic recommendations can complement conventional treatments but do not replace the need for urgent medical evaluation if your symptoms persist or worsen.
