It sounds like you’re dealing with bone pain and swelling in your knee, which could be quite discomforting. According to Ayurveda, this may be a sign of Vata imbalance, often associated with the joints, causing dryness and friction. To help reduce the swelling and pain, here are a few practical steps rooted in Ayurvedic practices:

Firstly, consider incorporating a warm sesame oil massage daily, focusing on the knee. Sesame oil is beneficial for vata imbalances due to its warming and nourishing properties. Gently massage the area in a circular motion for about 15-20 minutes, preferably before taking a warm shower or bath. It might assist in improving circulation and reducing stiffness.

Diet plays a significant role, so incorporating warm, cooked foods with healthy fats might be helpful. Include spices like ginger and turmeric, known for their anti-inflammatory properties, they help in soothing joint pain. Avoid cold and processed foods which may aggravate Vata.

Stay hydrated, but avoid drinking cold water. Instead, luke warm water may support the body’s natural functions. Regarding your daily activities, try to avoid excessive strain on your knees. If possible, incorporate gentle yoga postures like Pavanmuktasana (Wind-Relieving Pose) or Bhujangasana (Cobra pose) to maintain flexibility.

Consider adding Ashwagandha and Guggulu supplements to your regimen; they are renowned for supporting joint health and alleviating Vata disorders. However, consult with a local Ayurvedic practitioner before starting any herbs to ensure they best fit with your constitution.

If the pain persists or increases, it’s important to seek medical advice promptly. Ayurveda can provide relief but specific conditions might require further investigation by a healthcare provider, especially if there’s a risk of underlying conditions like arthritis. Safety first – don’t delay professional medical evaluation if required.
