Managing a growing ear keloid can certainly be challenging. In Ayurveda, keloids arise due to an imbalance in the body's doshas, particularly a combination of Vata and Kapha disturbances. Focusing on these imbalances might be beneficial, especially since you've tried other forms of medicine. Let's discuss some practical ayurvedic approaches. First, try improving your diet to help balance doshas. Keloids are often linked to excessive Kapha, so minimizing Kapha-aggravating foods like dairy, sugar, and fried foods might help. Favor lean proteins, spicy foods, and warm vegetables, all which may help reduce Kapha. Also, increase your intake of anti-inflammatory spices such as ginger, turmeric, and garlic, integrating them into your cooking as much as possible. Next, consider incorporating regular Ayurvedic practices like nasya and abhyanga. Nasya, or the application of medicated ghee or oils into the nostrils, can help clear Kapha and promote circulation. You might utilize herbal-infused oils like Brahmi ghee or Anu taila. Abhyanga, an oil massage, focusing on your ears, neck, and shoulders, can enhance circulation and help break down the keloid tissue over time. Sesame or castor oil could be beneficial for this therapy. Herbs like gotu kola, ashwagandha, and neem might also play a role due to their regenerative and detoxifying properties. Drinking gotu kola tea or taking ashwagandha supplements, prescribed by an Ayurveda practitioner, could help control the keloid growth. Consulting an Ayurvedic doctor for Panchakarma treatments tailored to your constitution, like virechana or bloodletting (rakta moksha), may offer benefits. It is crucial these are done under supervision due to their intense detox nature. Remember, ayurvedic methods work slowly over time, patience and consistency are key. However, due to the risk of infection or further complications from a growing keloid, it would also be wise to persistently consult with a dermatologist or plastic surgeon regarding surgical or other medical interventions alongside the Ayurveda methods. Balancing modern medicine with Ayurveda may yield the best results for you.
