Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) means your ovaries are producing more follicles (small fluid-filled sacs) but not realising eggs regularly. This happens because of hormonal imbalance (excess androgens, disturbed estrogen- progesterone balance, insulin resistance )
This leads to -Weight gain and difficulty losing weight (slow metabolism, insulin resistance) -Hairfall/ facial hair (due to excess male hormones) -Bloating, swelling before periods (hormonal water retention) -Painful or scanty bleeding (disturbed uterine lining)
