Based on the details shared, I understand that your condition might be due to a discrepancy in your digestive fire (agni), potentially exacerbated by an imbalance in your vata and pitta doshas. Chronic gastritis, as you’ve diagnosed, often involves these aspects in Ayurvedic terms. Here are some specific Ayurvedic approaches that may help address your concerns:
1. Dietary Adjustments: Avoid overly cold, dry or raw foods as they’re aggravating for vata. Instead, opt for warm, cooked meals. Start your day with a glass of lukewarm water infused with a teaspoon of honey to help balance vata and pitta doshas. Include more soupy, well-cooked vegetables, and grains like rice and khichdi, seasoned mildly with cumin and ginger to stimulate digestion without irritation.
2. Herbal Support: You might benefit from incorporating ½ teaspoon of Triphala powder with warm water before bed. It’s gentle yet effective in promoting digestive health. Additionally, a teaspoon of licorice root powder mixed with honey can also help soothe the lining of the stomach and reduce inflammation.
3. Lifestyle & Routine: Ensure you’re following a daily routine (dinacharya) as it helps stabilize vata. Try to eat, sleep, and wake up at the same times each day. Prioritize restful sleep by giving yourself a relaxing wind-down period before bed, maybe with some warm almond or ashwagandha milk.
4. Mind-Body Practices: Since stress appears as a factor, integrating calming practices like yoga or pranayama (breathing exercises) can greatly aid in managing your symptoms. Kapalbhati and Nadi Shodhana are particularly beneficial.
5. Avoidance of Triggers: Refrain from eating spicy, fried, or acidic foods, and monitor any foods that seem to exacerbate your symptoms. Even healthy foods can sometimes trigger symptoms depending on your specific dosha imbalance.
6. Hydration & Nutrition: Maintain hydration with small sips of warm water throughout the day, and consider consulting a physician for a more targeted supplementation, especially for vitamin B12 and zinc to support nourishment without digestive disturbance.
Given the symptoms and the weight loss mentioned, ensuring you seek a personalized Ayurvedic consultation can further refine these recommendations. It’s also crucial to continue collaborating with your healthcare providers on any new approaches to confirm they align with existing medications and comprehensive care.
