how to get rid of premature ejaculation - #42932

Levi

I am feeling really worried lately about my situation, and I just don't know how to get rid of premature ejaculation. This has been troubling me for a while now, and it’s really affecting my relationship. Honestly, it’s a bit awkward to talk about but I think it's important. Like, just the other night, my partner and I were trying to connect, and it happened to me again. It’s like I can never seem to control it when the moment feels right, and it’s super frustrating. I've tried some common techniques, like breathing exercises and even the 'stop-start' method, but nothing seems to work long term. And I read online about some herbal remedies but not sure how credible those are. Can Ayurveda really help? Can someone share how to get rid of premature ejaculation naturally, maybe with herbs or specific routines? I feel sort of lost and don't wanna embarrass myself anymore. Is there anything more I could do, or should I keep going with my attempts? I've heard things like Brahmi or Ashwagandha might be beneficial, but do they actually make a difference? Would appreciate any insights on how to get rid of premature ejaculation without embarrassing consultations or anything!!! Thanks in advance.

Doctors' responses

Feeling the urgency to address premature ejaculation is common, and its impact on relationships can indeed be distressing. In Ayurveda, the approach to this condition considers the balance of doshas and underlying lifestyle factors. Premature ejaculation often suggests imbalances in the Vata and Pitta doshas, for which Ayurveda offers several holistic solutions.

Starting with the diet is crucial; consuming foods that pacify Vata and Pitta can help. Include cooling and nourishing foods like milk, almonds, coconut, and organic sweet fruits. Avoid spicy, fried, and caffeine-loaded items which can aggravate the condition. Aim to eat at regular intervals to support strong digestive fire (agni), which is essential for optimal health and vitality.

Herbs play a significant role in managing premature ejaculation. Ashwagandha is well-studied for its adaptogenic properties, helping reduce stress and balancing hormones. Infuse half a teaspoon of Ashwagandha powder in warm milk before bed. Brahmi is great for calming the mind and enhancing concentration—it can be taken as a tea or mixed with honey. While these herbs can be helpful, consistency and patience are key, as lasting changes often take time.

Engage in lifestyle practices that soothe Vata and Pitta. Daily practice of meditation can enhance emotional stability and is preferable for calming anxiety related to performance. Yoga postures like Vajrasana and Padmasana can also be beneficial, practicing these regularly enhances stamina and control.

Specific Ayurvedic therapies, such as Shirodhara, might be recommended by a practitioner to help calm the mind and relieve stress. It’s also essential to ensure adequate sleep, aiming for a routine that allows for 7-8 hours of rest each night.

If you’re comfortable, consult an Ayurvedic doctor who can perform a detailed evaluation of your dosha constitution and offer personalized guidance. Though self-care is powerful, expert advice can provide tailored solutions, which is extremely beneficial for conditions like this. Remember, any significant changes should always be discussed with a healthcare professional, especially if you consider mixing herbal solutions with existing treatments.

Lastly, keep a healthy, open dialogue with your partner, which can alleviate stress and misunderstanding, enabling a supportive environment for healing.

Premature ejaculation can be challenging, but in Siddha-Ayurvedic tradition, addressing underlying imbalances can help significantly. It’s usually linked to an imbalance of Vata dosha, which governs movement and arousal processes. Here’s a practical approach that combines lifestyle and herbal remedies.

First, focus on a balanced diet to calm Vata. Include warm, nourishing foods like whole grains, dairy, nuts, and seeds. Avoid excessive caffeine, alcohol, and spicy foods that can aggravate Vata. You may find incorporating practices like Yoga Nidra or meditation beneficial to keep the mind relaxed and stable.

Herbal support includes using Ashwagandha and Bala which boost strength and vitality. Ashwagandha can be taken as churna (powder) with milk at night, and Bala can be administered similarly. It’s wise to consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner to determine the right doses for your body constitution.

Daily routine or Dinacharya can help, like abhyanga (self-oil massage) with warm sesame oil before bathing. This calms the nervous system and harmonizes Vata.

Kegel exercises strengthen pelvic muscles and may contribute to better control. These should be done consistently for effective results.

Additionally, consider Vajikarana therapy which focuses on improving reproductive health. It’s vital to approach this holistically, addressing both physical and emotional aspects.

If symptoms persist or worsen, please seek professional advice promptly. It’s crucial not to dismiss potential underlying health issues. Consistent practice and patience are key in this journey.
