Cervical spondylosis, combined with neuralgic symptoms like electric shocks, indicates nerve involvement likely due to compression. We’ll focus on Ayurvedic approaches aligning with this condition. Primary goal is to balance Vata, as it’s often the culprit in degenerative issues like yours.

First, let’s dive into dietary recommendations. Try a diet with more warm, cooked foods, featuring ingredients like ginger, ajwain, and turmeric. These can help reduce Vata and inflammation. Avoid cold, raw foods, as they might exacerbate symptoms. Also, ensure you’re staying hydrated with warm water throughout the day.

Now, consider Abhyanga, an oil massage for reducing stiffness and pain. Use sesame or Mahanarayan oil. Massage the affected areas gently for about 15-20 minutes, preferably in the morning before showering. The warmth will help soothe the nervous system and muscles, and the oil penetrates to nourish the tissues.

Specific yoga and breathing exercises can also assist. Focus on gentle stretches like Bhujangasana (Cobra pose) and Marjariasana (Cat-Cow stretch). These should be done slowly, sustaining awareness on breathing to avoid strain. Pranayama (breathing exercises) like Anulom Vilom can aid in calming Vata and promoting better oxygen flow.

Herbal remedies, like Ashwagandha and Guggulu, will support nervous and bone health. Try taking them in powder form or tablets, which you might find easily at Ayurvedic stores. They can be consumed with warm milk or water, usually before bed.

Managing stress is crucial due to its impact on Vata dosha. Consider mindfulness or relaxation tech, like meditation or even listening to calming music.

Finally, regular consultation with a healthcare professional is a must. Combining Ayurvedic practices with your current treatment can create a holistic approach for managing symptoms effectively. And remember, if symptoms worsen or change markedly, immediate medical advice is key.

For cervical spondylosis, particularly with the ‘electric shock’ sensation spreading from your shoulder to your forearms, we must consider a vata imbalance, which is typically aggravated by dryness and instability. To help manage this, let’s aim at calming vata and supporting the cervical region.

First, focus on applying a warming, medicated oil to the affected area. Mahanarayan oil is commonly used, known for its soothing, anti-inflammatory properties. Warm it slightly and gently massage it on the neck and shoulder area daily, ideally in the evening. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes before washing it off with warm water. This helps in reducing stiffness and improving circulation.

Next, your diet should aim to calm vata. Avoid cold, raw foods, which can aggravate dryness. Opt for meals that are warm, cooked, and slightly oily. Include foods like khichdi, which are simple to digest yet nourishing. Spices such as ginger, turmeric, and cumin can support digestion and reduce inflammation.

Herbal formulations like Ashwagandha or Bala can also be beneficial in strengthening the nervous system. These should be taken with warm milk or as prescribed by a qualified practitioner.

If you experience worsening pain, numbness, or muscle weakness, it’s important to consult a healthcare professional immediately, as these could indicate compression of nerves requiring medical intervention. Always prioritize safety and ensure treatments don’t interfere with any prescribed medications or therapies.
