Black dots on the face are often moles or pigmented spots and they’re usually harmless. However, when you talk about the body’s heat, that suggests an imbalance in the pitta dosha, which could be a contributing factor to skin issues. In the Siddha-Ayurvedic tradition, we aim to balance the doshas and enhance overall skin health.
To reduce body heat, and potentially lighten these spots, you might start with cooling practices. Incorporate more cooling foods into your diet, such as cucumber, watermelon, and coconut water. Avoid spicy, sour, and salty foods which can aggravate pitta. Daily application of sandalwood paste or a mixture of turmeric and chickpea flour on the face can have a cooling effect and help with skin clarity. Turmeric is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and might assist in reducing pigmentation over time.
Internal cleansing is crucial, too. Trikatu (a blend of long pepper, black pepper, and ginger) can be taken in small amounts to support metabolism and clear internal heat, but use it cautiously, as excessive amounts can raise body heat. Moreover, practice daily self-massage with cooling oils like coconut oil to pacify pitta.
Ensure proper hydration is part of your routine, as it helps flush toxins. Engage in calming activities like yoga or meditation to reduce stress, which can exacerbate pitta problems. Regular follow-ups with a trained practitioner is also necessary for managing long-standing skin conditions and adjusting treatments as necessary. If you notice changes in the size, shape, or color of the moles, do consult a dermatologist to rule out any serious conditions.
