For chronic constipation, consider Triphala, a traditional Ayurvedic remedy comprising of three fruits: Amalaki, Bibhitaki, and Haritaki. Take a teaspoon with warm water at night. Ensure your diet is high in fiber, include whole grains, fruits like papaya, figs, and vegetables. Drink warm water throughout the day to stimulate the digestive fire (Agni) and try practicing yoga poses like Pavanamuktasana which helps with bowel movement.

For bone strength, include sesame seeds which are high in calcium, and supplement with ayurvedic herbs such as Ashwagandha and Shatavari that are supportive to bones. Sunlight exposure helps your body to naturally produce Vitamin D which is crucial for bone health. Weight-bearing exercises like walking are also beneficial for strengthening bones.

To lower cholesterol naturally, incorporate foods that are known to be beneficial such as garlic, which helps reduce cholesterol, and turmeric, renowned for its anti-inflammatory properties. Guggulu is another Ayurvedic herb that assists in managing lipid levels.

For lower back strengthening, instead of surgery, Ayurvedic massages like Kati Basti, where warm medicated oils are used can be very helpful, along with specific back strengthening exercises like Bhujangasana (Cobra pose).

To enhance cognitive function, Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) is often recommended for memory and focus. Ashwagandha supports mental capacity by reducing stress, regard meditation as a daily practice to help with concentration and mood elevation over time.

Each of these should be tailored to your constitution (dosha balance) and be aware that some herbs may interact with medications, consult your healthcare provider before starting particularly if you are undergoing other treatments.

Addressing chronic constipation can begin with assessing your agni (digestive fire) and the balance of your doshas. Constipation often links to a vata imbalance, particularly in the colon. To regulate this, include warm, cooked foods in your diet, like stewed fruits (figs, apricots, and prunes) and well-cooked vegetables. Stay hydrated; warm water throughout the day can help maintain bowel movements. Consider triphala churna — take one teaspoon in warm water before bedtime; it may help promote regular bowel function safely.

Strengthening bones naturally involves ensuring the proper nourishment of your asthi dhatu (bone tissue). Include calcium-rich foods such as sesame seeds, almonds, and leafy greens. Moderate sun exposure can help Vitamin D synthesis. Ashwagandha, an adaptogenic herb, may support bone health. Mix ashwagandha powder in warm milk before bed.

Lowering cholesterol naturally aligns with avoiding heavy, oily foods that may disrupt kapha balance. Regular exercise, like gentle yoga or brisk walking, aids in maintaining cholesterol levels. Incorporate fenugreek seeds into meals, known in Siddha for supporting metabolism and reducing lipids.

To strengthen the lower back, avoid heavy lifting. Gentle bending, forward folds, and stretches enhance flexibility and strength. Ayurvedic oils, applied daily, like Mahanarayana tailam, can aid muscle relaxation and support the spine’s health.

For cognitive concerns at 75, Brahmi and Gotu Kola have long been recommended for mental clarity and focus. Consume Brahmi with ghee in the morning. Engaging in mindfulness practices, such as daily meditation, supports emotional balance and reduces symptoms of low-level depression and ADD.

Consult a qualified practitioner before introducing any herbal supplements or drastic changes to your regimen, particularly if medical conditions or treatments are ongoing. It is vital to avoid delaying medical advice for any urgent concerns, especially regarding surgical issues.
