I have dark circles since long . I tried everything but not able to cure .i had history of depression from that time i am suffering with the issue of dark circle.

Dark circles can be a stubborn issue, especially when they are exacerbated by factors like a history of depression. In Ayurveda, dark circles often linked to imbalance of the doshas, particularly Pitta and Vata. Chronic stress, fatigue, and improper diet can contribute to this condition as well. To address this from an Ayurvedic perspective, it’s essential to focus both on lifestyle and dietary changes.

Firstly, incorporating stress-reducing practices such as meditation or yoga can be beneficial. These practices help to calm the mind and balance Vata. Aim for at least 20-30 minutes daily. Also, regular sleep patterns are crucial. Try to sleep and wake up every day at the same times; aim for 7-9 hours of restful sleep.

Dietary adjustments can also make a significant difference. Favor foods that are cooling and pacifying to Pitta such as cucumber, melons, and coconut water. Avoid spicy, oily, and processed foods that might aggravate the Pitta dosha. Hydration is crucial, so ensure you’re drinking enough water, ideally warm or room-temperature water, to support your body’s cleansing processes.

For topical treatment, applying a mixture of almond oil and a pinch of turmeric gently under your eyes before bed might help lighten dark circles. The nourishing properties of almond oil combined with turmeric’s anti-inflammatory aspects help to reduce discoloration.

Lastly, prioritise activities that promote joy and relaxation to support mental well-being. Since you’ve mentioned a history of depression, it might be useful to continue any ongoing treatments or therapies for mental health, as they might indirectly benefit the skin too.
