Hlo,
Since your varicose veins are long-standing (15 years) and severely bulging on the left leg, Ayurveda focuses on Rakta dushti + Vata–Kapha imbalance with weakness of sira (veins). Complete reversal is difficult, but progression, pain, heaviness, and complications can be controlled well with regular care. Below practical Ayurvedic prescription + home regimen 🌿
🌿 Ayurvedic Prescription (3–6 months)
1️⃣ Kaishore Guggulu Dose: 2 tablets, twice daily after meals Benefit: Improves blood circulation, reduces vein congestion & inflammation
2️⃣ Manjisthadi Kwath (or Manjisthadi Kadha) Dose: 15 ml + equal warm water, morning & evening Benefit: Best blood purifier for varicose veins, bluish discoloration
3️⃣ Arjuna Churna Dose: ½ teaspoon with warm water, once daily at night Benefit: Strengthens blood vessels and vein walls

Since you have had this for 15 years and the veins are bulgy and thick, the valves inside the veins are permanently damaged. Medicines cannot make the veins disappear (that requires surgery), but Ayurveda can strengthen the valve walls, prevent further bulging and stop the pain/heaviness.
Medicines Sahacharadi Kashayam: 15ml mixed with 60ml warm water, twice daily (before food).
Kaishore Guggulu: 2 tablets twice daily with warm water (after food).
Chiruvilwadi Kashayam: (Optional, add if constipation is present). Constipation adds pressure to leg veins. Ensure your bowels are clear.
External Therapy (Crucial) Sahacharadi Thailam: Apply this oil on the legs daily. Always massage UPWARDS (from ankle to knee/thigh). Never massage downwards, as this pushes blood back against the weak valves. Do not apply heavy pressure directly on the bulgy veins; just gentle application.
Home Remedy & Lifestyle Viparita Karani (Legs Up The Wall): Lie on your back and rest your legs vertically against a wall for 15-20 minutes every evening. This uses gravity to drain the pooled blood from the bulgy veins. This is more effective than any medicine. Compression Stockings: Since you have severe bulging, you must wear Class 2 Compression Stockings during the day if you are standing or working.
Diet: Avoid Potatoes and heavy tubers, as they increase Vata and constipation.
Since the left leg is severe, I highly recommend visiting a Panchakarma center for Siravyadha (Therapeutic Bloodletting). It releases the bad blood and instantly reduces the pressure in the veins.

Hello Hey hanks for sharing all that info. Dealing with varicose veins for 15 years can really take a toll, both physically and mentally, especially with them getting all bulgy and blue.
The good news is, Ayurveda can help slow things down, boost circulation, make your veins stronger, and ease your symptoms, even after all this time.
YOUR CONCERN
How long you’ve had it: 15 years Where it’s hitting you: * Left leg: pretty bad, bulgy, thick veins * Right leg: not as bad Pain level: Usually none, maybe a little after working hard or lifting heavy stuff. What makes it worse:Heavy lifting, standing for too long, or really pushing yourself.
AYURVEDIC UNDERSTANDING
Vata Dosha going wild: This means your veins lose their stretchiness, get wide and twisty, and their walls become dry and weak.
Rakta Dushti (aka bad blood): Your blood gets stuck, turns bluish, and doesn’t flow back up like it should.
Mamsa & Sira Dourbalya (weak muscles and vessels): Your tissues that support the veins aren’t strong enough to fight gravity and hold the blood.
Since you’ve had this for a while, the veins might not totally disappear. But we can definitely make your symptoms disappear and improve how they look.
TREATMENT GOAL.
* Get your blood flowing better. * Make your vein walls stronger. * Stop blood from pooling. * Keep new bulges from forming. * Less pain after you exert yourself.
AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT
INTERNAL MEDICATION (do this for at least 3-6 months):
1.Kaishore Guggulu: Take 2 tablets twice a day after meals with warm water. This helps circulation, cleans up your blood, and makes your vessels stronger.
2.Punarnavadi Guggulu: Take 2 tablets twice a day after meals. This stops blood from getting congested and helps with swelling after you’ve been active.
3.Arjuna Churna Take ½ teaspoon twice a day with lukewarm water. Great for making your blood vessels and their tone better.
EXTERNAL CARE
Daily Massage (Abhyanga): Do this every day or every other day. Use MahaNarayana Taila. Gently massage from your ankle up towards your knee, only going upwards. 10-15 minutes. Don’t aggressively massage directly on the really bulgy veins. This improves blood flow back to your heart and calms Vata.
HERBAL LEPA
Natural Lepam (2-3 times a week): * Mix 1 tablespoon of Manjistha powder, a pinch of turmeric, and enough aloe vera gel to make a paste. * Put it on the affected veins for 20 minutes, then wash it off with lukewarm water. This helps with discoloration and blood purification.
LIFESTYLE CHANGES
Do these: * Prop your legs up for 15-20 minutes daily. * Sleep with your legs slightly raised. * Walk every day at a steady pace. * Try gentle yoga poses like Viparita Karani (legs up the wall), Pawanmuktasana (wind-relieving pose), and ankle rotations.
Avoid these: * Standing for too long. * Lifting heavy stuff. * Sitting cross-legged for extended periods. * Wearing tight clothes around your thighs or legs.
DIET PLAN
✅INCLUDE * Warm, freshly cooked meals. * Garlic, ginger, turmeric. * Green leafy veggies. * Pomegranate. * Drink plenty of water.
❌AVOID * Super spicy food. * Too much salt. * Junk food. * Alcohol.
Tests you might want:
Venous Doppler Ultrasound: Get this done on both legs. It helps us see how much damage there is to your valves and how your blood is flowing.
Remember, veins that have been like this for 15 years need time. Sticking with the plan is key.
Having varicose veins for 15 years shows that your blood vessels have been weak for a while, it’s not some sudden thing. Ayurveda works slowly but surely, making your veins stronger, improving your life, and preventing bigger problems like ulcers or blood clots.

HELLO,
Varicose veins are primarily due to- -vata vyadhi(abnormal movement and stagnation of vata) -aggravation of Rakta dhatu and Meda dhatu - Dhamani pratichaya(thickening or bulging of veins due to improper flow and waste accumulation)
TREATMENT GOAL -reduce venous congestion and swelling - strengthen vein walls - balance vata (main culprit in varicose veins), while supporting pitta(inflammation) and kapha(stagnation) -protect skin and nerves
INTERNALLY START WITH
1) KAISHOR GUGGULU- 2 tabs twice daily after meals = Anti inflammatory, blood purifier
2) PUNARNAVA MANDORR- 2 tabs twice daily after meals =reduces edema, improves circulation
3) SARIVADYASAVA- 15 ml with equal water after meals = pitta-vata balance, blood detox
4) CHANDRAPRABHA VATI- 2 tabs twice daily after meals = venous strength
5) MANJISTHADI KASHAYA- 20 ml with water twice daily before meals =improves microcirculation, venous strength
6) TRIPHALA CHURNA- 1 tsp at bedtime with warm water =mild detox, supports bowel function
EXTERNAL TREATMENT

Avoid standing poses for long durations. Do not hold poses too long if swelling increases
DIET TO BE FOLLOWED
INCLUDE -warm, light meals= reduces kapha and vata - garlic, turmeric, ginger= natural blood thinners -bottle gourd, ridge gourd, bitter gourd= light on digestion -green gram, barley, red rice= light grains, good fiber -amla= rejuvinator, antioxidant -triphala= gut detox, and helps with digestion - buttermilk(diluted, spiced)= improves digestion and metabolism
AVOID -deep fried, sour, fermented food= aggravates pitta, leads to inflammation -cold drinks, ice cream, curd at night= triggers kapha and congestion - long fasting or heavy meals= disturbs vata - constipation= leads to increased abdominal pressure, worsens varicosity
SOME SYMPTOMS WHICH YOU SHOULD NOT IGNORE -watch for sudden pain, ulcers, bleeding or dark skin patches -swelling or color change may indicate venous insufficiency or diabetic complications -if symptoms worsen, vascular evaluation or minimally invasive treatment may be needed-e.g sclerotherapy or laser ablation
