Hello I totally get how rough it is when your knees are stiff, swollen, and your back’s killing you, making it hard to even sit right or squat. When simple things like that starts hurting, it’s a clear sign your joints are stressed and inflamed. Don’t worry, though Ayurveda can really help with this. YOUR CONCERN – Knee joint is stiff and painful – Can’t squat or use an Indian toilet – Serious knee swelling – Back is also inflamed and painful – This has been happening for 1–6 months Sounds like classic Sandhigata Vata with Ama (that’s inflammatory arthritis, basically). THE AYURVEDA VIEW: In Ayurveda, this happens because: – Vata dosha gets out of whack → causing pain, stiffness, and cracking – Ama (nasty undigested gunk) builds up → causing swelling, heaviness, and inflammation – Joints get blocked up, dry, and painful So, it’s not just wear and tear – it’s inflammation + Vata messing around + toxin build-up. AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT Our goals: – Get rid of Ama – Cool down the inflammation – Calm Vata – Get those joints lubricated again INTERNAL MEDICATION 1 Simhanada Guggulu – 1 tablet, twice a day → Clears out Ama and eases swelling 2. Yograj Guggulu – 1 tablet, twice a day → Gets your joints moving better and reduces stiffness 3. Maharasnadi Kashayam– 15 ml with warm water, twice a day → A powerful way to fight joint inflammation 4. Dashmoolaristha – 15 ml at night → Soothes back inflammation and nerve pain EXTERNAL CARE Massage your knees and lower back daily with Mahanarayana Taila. Then, use a hot water compress. This will: - Bring down swelling - Get the blood flowing - Loosen things up DIET PLANAVOID – Curd – Cold drinks – Baked goods and fried stuff – Nightshades (potato, tomato, eggplant) ✅INCLUDE – Warm, cooked meals – Garlic, ginger, and turmeric – Moringa (drumstick) – Ghee ALSO: – Use a Western toilet for now – Wear a knee support – Don’t sit on the floor WHEN YOU’LL FEEL BETTER – Swelling should go down in 10–14 days – Pain and stiffness should ease up in 3–4 weeks – Squatting should get easier in 6–8 weeks Your joints are just fired up - not broken. With the right Ayurveda stuff, they can heal Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate
