Is Kshar Sutra Painful - #7364
I was recently diagnosed with a fistula, and my doctor suggested undergoing Kshar Sutra therapy, a minimally invasive Ayurvedic procedure to treat fistulas and hemorrhoids. While I’m relieved that surgery can be avoided, I’m very nervous about whether Kshar Sutra is painful during and after the procedure. From what I’ve researched, Kshar Sutra involves placing a medicated thread coated with alkaline herbs into the fistula tract to gradually cut through and heal it. It’s said to be less invasive than modern surgery and has a lower recurrence rate. However, the idea of a thread being inserted and tightened over time sounds quite painful to me. Has anyone here undergone Kshar Sutra therapy for a fistula or piles? How much pain did you experience during the procedure, and how did you manage it? Was the recovery process painful as well, especially when the thread was replaced or tightened? I’ve also read that the pain can be reduced with Ayurvedic medications and lifestyle changes, like eating fiber-rich foods and avoiding spicy, hard-to-digest meals. Did you find any such tips helpful during your recovery? If you’ve had Kshar Sutra therapy, I’d love to hear about your experience – how long did it take to heal completely, and was the pain manageable? Your insights will help me prepare mentally and physically for this procedure.
