This condition is often seen as a result of internal imbalances such as poor digestion and the accumulation of toxins (ama) in the body. Stress, dietary habits, and environmental factors can exacerbate these doshic imbalances, leading to flare-ups.

Ayurveda views this as a systemic issue, not just a localized skin condition. The skin is a reflection of internal health, often linked to digestive fire (agni) and the body’s ability to process and eliminate toxins effectively. Diet and lifestyle play crucial roles in managing and preventing symptoms.

Scalp psoriasis is due to skin inflammation with pitta and vata imbalance. Weather changes and diet can trigger it. Do not scratch or pick the scales. Wash scalp with a mild shampoo 2–3 times per week. Apply coconut oil or neem oil on scalp for 30–45 minutes before wash. Apply fresh aloe vera gel on affected area once daily. Take 10–15 minutes sunlight regularly. Avoid spicy, sour, fried food. Avoid curd at night, bakery items, packaged food, excess sugar. Eat simple home food with green vegetables like bottle gourd, ridge gourd. Include amla regularly. Drink warm water. Maintain proper sleep and reduce stress. Medicines: Mahamanjisthadi kwath 15 ml with equal water twice daily. Arogyavardhini vati 1 tablet twice daily after food. Gandhak rasayan 1 tablet twice daily.
