Hello dear, In Ayurveda, adenomyosis is often viewed as a Vata Kapha imbalance with Rakta (blood) involvement, where abnormal growths or congestions occur within the uterine muscular wall. Also refer as vatala yonivyapad in Ayurveda. Dhamasa is highly regarded in Ayurveda for its Rakta Shodhak (blood-purifying) and anti-inflammatory properties. While it is traditionally used to manage cysts and fibroids by “scraping” away excess tissue (Lekhana), It is best used as a supportive herb to reduce heavy bleeding and uterine inflammation. But can not use as a standalone drug for your condition. To manage adenomyosis effectively, Ayurveda protocols typically focus on reducing the uterine volume and balancing hormones. 1. Kanchanara Guggulu Action: The primary “scraping” medicine used to reduce abnormal growths and swellings. Dose: 2 tablets twice daily, after food. 2. Sukumaram Kwath Liquid Action: Specifically formulated for uterine health; it helps regulate Vata and eases the pain associated with adenomyosis. Dose: 15 ml liquid with 45 ml lukewarm water (or 2 tablets) twice daily, 30 minutes before food. 3. Ashwagandharishtam Action: Helps manage the stress on the body caused by chronic pain and supports hormonal balance. Dose: 20 ml with an equal amount of water, twice daily after food. You may feel a difference in pain levels and bloating within the first 1 to 2 menstrual cycles (approx. 30–60 days). For a reduction in uterine thickness or heavy bleeding, consistent treatment is usually required for 3 to 6 months.
It is pointing towards Vata-Kaphaja Artava Dushti or Udavarta
While Dhamasa Booti is known for its blood-purifying and anti-inflammatory properties but you require more effective for managing uterine tissue overgrowth and pain.

Adenomyosis is not a simple single herb condition so only taking dhamasa booti alone usually will not give strong or lasting results it can support but not complete treatment Dhamasa booti is known in Ayurveda for its cooling and blood purifying nature it can help in reducing excess pitta and inflammation and may slightly help in heavy bleeding or uterine heat but adenomyosis mainly involves vata imbalance with rakta dushti and uterine tissue changes so deeper treatment is needed If you still want to take dhamasa booti it can be used as a supportive herb usually decoction or powder form once or twice daily results are slow you may notice mild changes in bleeding or pain in around 4 to 6 weeks but this is not enough for full correction For real improvement you need a combination approach correcting apana vata improving uterine tone reducing inflammation and clearing channels herbs like ashoka lodhra shatavari kumari dashmoola combinations are more useful along with proper diet and lifestyle With proper Ayurvedic treatment some women start feeling difference in pain and heaviness within 6 to 8 weeks but structural improvement takes 3 to 6 months sometimes longer depending on severity Also avoid cold foods excessive sour spicy items late nights stress and constipation because these aggravate the condition
Adenomyosis is a chronic uterine condition, so treatment needs a combination approach, not a single herb alone. Dhamasa booti can support pitta reduction and blood purification, but alone it is usually not sufficient to manage adenomyosis completely. You can take it as supportive: Dhamasa booti decoction (kwath) – 30–40 ml once daily But along with this, proper uterine support medicines and lifestyle are important. Avoid: Very spicy, sour, and heavy foods Excess stress and irregular routine Prefer: Warm, light diet Regular sleep and gentle exercise At home: Warm water and light abdominal fomentation (heat) during pain can help Ashokarishta – 15 ml with equal water twice daily after food Kanchanar guggulu – 1 tablet twice daily after food Shatavari churna – 1 teaspoon with milk at bedtime Regarding results: You may start feeling symptomatic relief in 4–6 weeks, but proper improvement usually takes 2–3 months or more with consistency. Regular follow-up is important to monitor progress. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)
Dhamasa booti alone is not considered a reliable Ayurvedic treatment for adenomyosis. It may provide mild relief in bleeding and inflammation, but it does not cure the condition. Noticeable changes, if any, usually appear after 2–4 weeks, but structural improvement of the uterus is not expected. Timeline for Relief Powder (3–5 g twice daily) or decoction (30–40 ml twice daily). Effect: Slight reduction in bleeding or inflammation after 2–4 weeks. Limitation: No major improvement in uterine structure. Rx 1.Kanchnar guggulu 2 tab twice daily with water after meals 2.Lodhra churna 1/2 tsp twice daily with honey after meals 3.Ashokarishta 15 ml with 15 ml water twice daily after meals 4.Pushyanug churna 1/2 tsp twice daily with rice water or honey after meals Lifestyle & Diet Recommendations— Avoid: Curd at night, spicy food, excess tea/coffee. Include: Warm milk, ghee, sesame oil, light exercise, stress management. Therapies: Panchakarma (especially Uttar Basti and Matra Basti) under expert guidance can provide deeper relief
