When you constantly feel something stuck in your throat and experience gas the issue may relate to an imbalance of kapha dosha, which can cause mucus build-up, and poor digestion, influenced by ama (toxins) reducing agni, your digestive fire. In Siddha-Ayurveda, addressing this requires balancing your kapha and enhancing digestive process.
Consider trying trikatu churna which is a combination of black pepper, long pepper, and ginger, to boost your digestion. Take half a teaspoon with honey a half hour before your meals. This helps clear excess mucus and improve digestive health.
Nasya treatment may also offer relief. Apply 2-3 drops of warm sesame oil in each nostril daily. This helps to clear the nasal passages, easing pressure from sinus issues and post-nasal drip contributing to the throat sensation.
Stay hydrated but avoid cold beverages, as they can increase kapha. Drinking warm water with a few slices of ginger throughout the day may assist in clearing the throat. Dietary adjustments like avoiding heavy, oily, or very spicy foods will be beneficial. Opt for warm, light meals that are easily digestible, such as kichari with ghee and cumin.
If the situation persists or worsens, consulting with a conventional physician and possibly an ENT specialist could help in managing deeper sinus or throat issues. Immediate attention might be necessary if you experience difficulty breathing or swallowing, as these could indicate more serious underlying conditions. Balance is key, so consider these adjustments carefully within the context of your overall lifestyle and health.
