Asthma, or Tamaka Shwasa in Ayurveda, can indeed be managed with a variety of practices. Let’s start with Sitopaladi Churna. It is generally taken with honey, a small spoon mixed, half an hour after meals twice a day. It’s pretty safe for long-term use but always worth checking with your doctor if you’re taking other meds, especially cause everyone’s body reacts differently to long-term usage.
Dashamoola is pretty good too, and brewing it as a kashayam (decoction) is common. Boil about half to one teaspoon in a cup of water until it reduces by half, then strain and drink twice daily. Relief can vary, but some folks start feeling better after a few weeks. It’s both about consistency and listening to what works for your body.
Panchakarma, with therapies like Virechana and Nasya, involves detoxification. Virechana needs proper guidance, usually one session can offer benefits, but a therapist often recommends 3 to 5 sessions for more substantial changes. With Nasya, often 7 days in a row can show improvements. Important though, seek these under professional supervision because hey, better safe than sorry, right?
Onto pranayama, practices like Anulom Vilom and Bhastrika are great for boosting lung capacity. I’d say start with 5 min a day and increase gradually, ideally twice daily. Consistency really pays off here, and they do complement other treatments.
Anyone else’s experience can vary, like some might notice changes within a month or so. Experiences differ cause we’re all unique, right? It’s good to combine these with balanced lifestyle - think warm, fresh foods, avoiding very cold or super dry environments, cause these dry up that prana. Hope it helps!
