what is a gynecologist - #17288
Periods have always been a nightmare for me, like from the very first one. Super irregular, sometimes skipping 2 months, sometimes coming twice in a month. Pain so bad I can’t even move properly, and the flow is crazy - either so light that I feel like it’s just spotting, or so heavy I have to change every hour. It’s been like this for years but got even worse after I turned 25. Now, I’m 28, and it's like my whole system is messed up. Went to a doctor last year, and they did some tests, told me it could be PCOS but weren’t sure. They said I need to see a specialist but honestly, I have no idea what is a gynecologist exactly supposed to do?? I mean, I get that they deal with women’s issues, but will they just give me some hormonal pills and send me home? I’ve already been given birth control once, and it made me feel worse - bloated, moody, breaking out like crazy. Then I stopped on my own, and my cycle got even more unpredictable. I recently came across Ayurveda and started reading about natural ways to balance hormones. Some articles mentioned herbs like Ashoka and Shatavari, but I don’t know if they actually help. I really don’t wanna take synthetic medicines anymore if there’s a way to fix this naturally. If I go to a gynecologist, will they even consider Ayurvedic treatments, or is it all just Western medicine? And can Ayurveda actually help regulate periods for someone like me? Also, how do I even find an Ayurvedic doctor who deals with women’s health? I'm really confused about whether I should see a gynecologist first or go directly for Ayurveda. What is a gynecologist actually gonna check for, and do I really need one for this?
