Dizziness - #19780

Sivarama

I am suffering from Myeloneuropathy since last 20 years. For 15 days in this Februar 2025, I took Patanjali Medha vati ( 2 twice a day) and Asvashila cspsule ( combination of Aswagandha and Shilajit, 1 twice a day). But soon I developed Dizziness, loss of weight, no sleep at night, indigestion, so I stopped that. Then I consulted another doctor who has given Shilajit Rasayan powder, Muslipak, Eucovine plus snd Aswagandha capsule. Presently my weight is gradually improving, but dizziness still occurs. What to do now. My BP = 125/ 82 Pulse=65.

Dear Sivarama,

I understand the challenges you’ve been facing with myeloneuropathy and the recent symptoms of dizziness, weight loss, insomnia, and indigestion following the use of certain Ayurvedic formulations. While remedies like Medha Vati and Ashvashila Capsule are generally beneficial for fatigue, stress, and neurological health, individual reactions can vary, and side effects may occur in some cases… Once check your haemoglobin and blood sugar levels

•	Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration, which is a common cause of dizziness.
•	Coconut water is excellent for balancing electrolytes.
•	Drink buttermilk (chaas) with a pinch of rock salt.

Hey there, I can understand why you’re anxious about those lingering dizziness symptoms. It can sometimes happen when our body’s adjusting to new treatments. Since you’ve mentioned a history with myeloneuropathy, it’s important to consider how these remedies can affect you, given the chronic nature of your condition.

Firstly, dizziness might result from dosha imbalance, particularly Vata. With your symptoms like indigestion and sleeplessness, Vata seems to be the major player here, probably aggravated by the herbal supplements you’ve been taking. Balancing Vata could help reduce dizziness. Here are some practical steps you can try:

1. Diet: Stick to warm, freshly cooked meals. Avoid cold or raw foods as they can increase Vata. Foods like cooked grains, soups, and stews are more gentle on your system now. You might add some ghee to your meals for nourishment.

2. Herbs: Since you’ve seen mixed results, maybe simplify your regimen a bit. Consider taking Ashwagandha on its own if that was working previously but hold off on starting too many at once. Examine how it resonates with your body over a week.

3. Routine: Establish a calming evening ritual to aid sleep, like drinking a cup of warm milk with nutmeg before bed. You want to avoid stimulating activities after sunset.

4. Pranayama and Meditation: Simple breathing exercises in the morning might help ground Vata imbalances. Try Anulom Vilom breathing for 5-10 minutes daily.

5. Hydration: Keep well hydreted, sometimes dizziness links to dehydration.

Since you’re already seeing a doc, let’s not rock the boat without chatting with them. They might want to tweak something or perhaps rule out other causes of the dizziness. You’ve got this, and it’s all about finding what fits together best for you.
