Doctors’ responses
Can I know how is your urine out put and recent creatinine levels??
Hello Khanjan, Have you noticed any other symptoms, like swelling, fatigue, or changes in urine output? What specific Ayurvedic herbs or treatments have you been using, and how consistent has your regimen been? Have you had any recent kidney function tests, such as creatinine levels or ultrasound imaging, to track the progress of your left kidney’s condition? Additionally, could you describe your current diet and lifestyle, and if any other conditions are being treated simultaneously?

It’s encouraging to hear that you’ve experienced improvement in kidney function with Ayurvedic treatment. Urethral stricture can indeed be a challenging condition but Ayurveda offers some supportive measures. While each individual’s response to treatment is unique, let’s explore potential measures that may support further improvement.
To continue progress, consider maintaining a diet that’s light and easy on your kidneys. Incorporate moong dal, barley, and fresh fruits and vegetables like cucumber, pumpkin, and pomegranate — they work well for pacifying vata dosha, which is often implicated in blockages like strictures. Stay hydrated, but remember moderation; sipping warm water throughout the day can be preferable to large amounts all at once.
Herbal support like Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) and Varuna (Crateva nurvala) are traditionally used to support kidney health and urinary flow. These could be prepared as decoctions or taken in capsule form, as per the advice of your Ayurvedic practitioner.
Regular cleansing practices, like gentle Abhyanga (oil massage) and steam therapy, can help in improving circulation and promoting the body’s natural healing processes. Practicing yoga asanas such as Baddha Konasana (Bound Angle Pose) and Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half Lord of the fishes Pose) may also improve circulation and flexibility, supporting normal urinary function.
Continue focusing on improving your agni by including warming spices in your meals, such as ginger, cumin, and fennel. These will aid digestion and assimilation of nutrients, supporting overall kidney and urinary health.
Maintain regular follow-ups with your healthcare provider to monitor kidney function, as sometimes surgical intervention might still be the optimal choice if significant improvement does not persist. Never disregard medical advice when it comes to significant kidney impairment. It is vital to work hand-in-hand with both allopathic and Ayurvedic practitioners for a comprehensive approach.
