First go for mammography.
You should go for PETCT not biopsy or FNAC

Deciding between a PET scan and a biopsy can be quite challenging, especially when faced with a finding like a 28mm lobulated hypoechoic mass. Both procedures have their specific roles and can provide valuable information.
A biopsy is generally considered the gold standard for evaluating a suspicious mass like this because it involves taking a sample of the tissue to examine the presence of cancerous cells. However, I understand why you might worry about spreading; there’s a common concern about whether a biopsy could cause cancer cells to spread, but please be reassured that this is extremely unlikely. The benefits of getting an accurate diagnosis through a biopsy typically outweigh the risks you might be concerned about.
On the other hand, a PET scan can offer insights into whether the mass is metabolically active, which is often indicative of cancer. It can also help in determining if the suspicious area has spread to other parts of the body, which is useful in staging the cancer.
Regarding the stage, it’s important to note that the stage can only be determined after a thorough analysis of the biopsy results and potentially the PET scan results as well. Imaging tests and lab work together typically indicate how advanced cancer is if present; without this info, we can’t accurately stage the condition.
From an Ayurvedic perspective, it’s important to support your mother’s body during this period of diagnosis and treatment. Encouraging a diet that balances the tridoshas could be beneficial. Fresh vegetables, fruits, and plenty of hydrating fluids can support overall health. Ayurveda often emphasizes maintaining a strong agni (digestive fire), so ensuring she eats light, easily digestible meals could also be beneficial.
If you are concerned, I’d suggest speaking with a medical oncologist who can provide guidance tailored to your mother’s specific needs and conditions. Prioritizing professional medical advice is crucial in cases involving potential cancer diagnosis.
