Hi Firstly you need to understand that Ayurvedic medicine you are taking is complementary, not a replacement for Chemo / Radiation / hormonal therapy if advised to you. Remember Ayurvedic treatment works best alongside modern cancer care. I’ll suggest some ayurvedic medicine for you as follows
1) Kanchanara Guggulu - 2 tab - twice daily - After food with warm water 2) Gokshuradi Guggulu - 2 tabs twice daily - After food - with water 3) Ashwagandha Churna - 3gm at night - with warm milk or water 4) Guduchi Satva - 500 mg twice daily - After food - with water or Amritarisht - 15 ml twice daily after food 5) Haridra Khanda / Curcumin Capsules - 500mg - twice daily - empty stomach - with milk or water 6) Varunadi Kashaya - 15 ml + 15 ml warm water, twice daily before food 7) Bhallataka Rasayana (Purified) - 125 mg once daily.
Also add ghee in your diet, avoid spicy and very high protein food, Red meat, processed food, Sugar, alcohol
Follow Steamed vegetables Turmeric, ginger, garlic Pomegranate, bottle gourd Warm water only
Take regular follow up with oncologist.
HELLO,
Prostate cancer aligns with Granthi/Arbuda involving vitiated kapha-vata with Ama accumulation in the Mutravaha srotas
CURRENT REGIMEN= Your use of kanchanar guggulu, triphala gugguu, musta, lodhra, arjuna is classically appropriate for granthi sodhana, inflammation control, and tissues support
Continue under supervision given PSA 24 and extraprostatic extension
GOALS OF CARE -reduce kapha-ama load -support urinary flow and urethral involvement -improve agni, immunity, and quality of life
ADJUNCTS OFTEN CONSIDERED -Mild lekhana and sothahara herbs -rasayana support once digestion is stable
DIET AND LIFESTYLE -warm, light, anti kapha diet, avoid dairy, red meat, sugar -regular bowel clearance, gentle walking, stress reductin
MONITORING -regular PSA, imaging, and parallel oncology follow up is essential -Ayurveda here is supportive not a replacement for conventional cancer care
Ayurveda can support systemic balance, symptoms, and resilience but with your findings, it should work alongside modern oncology, not aolone
THANK YOU
DR. MAITRI ACHARYA
Ayurvedic medicine will help as supportive treatment and not main treatment. You can start with Amla juice 10ml+ Aloe vera juice 10ml twice daily after food with 30ml. Water., -This will help improve anti oxidants levels in the body. Have turmeric milk at bedtime, as turmeric is known to have anti cancer properties. Continue all ayurvedic medicine as suggested to you. Do pranayam lom -vilom bhastrika bhamri 5-10mins twice daily. Include fresh green vegetables in your diet daily either semi cooked or sauted. Include seasonal fruits and seasonal vegetables in your diet.
BASED ON WHAT YOU HAVE SHARED YOU HAVE A LOCALLY ADVANCED PROSTATE CONDITION WITH MULTIPLE LESIONS AND LIKELY EXTENSION BEYOND THE GLAND WITH INVOLVEMENT CLOSE TO THE RECTUM AND ONE LESION AROUND THE URINARY PASSAGE YOUR PSA LEVEL IS SIGNIFICANTLY ELEVATED WHICH TELLS US THAT THE DISEASE ACTIVITY IS STILL HIGH EVEN AFTER SIX MONTHS OF CONSISTENT HERBAL SUPPORT
THE FORMULATION YOU ARE USING IS A STRONG AND INTELLIGENT COMBINATION THESE HERBS ARE KNOWN TO SUPPORT ABNORMAL TISSUE METABOLISM IMPROVE DRAINAGE REDUCE HARDNESS AND SUPPORT DETOXIFICATION THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED SIDE EFFECTS AND YOUR ENERGY IS MODERATE IS A POSITIVE SIGN AND SHOWS YOUR DIGESTIVE AND METABOLIC STRENGTH IS STILL HOLDING WELL
HOWEVER IT IS IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND THAT WHEN THERE ARE MULTIPLE LESIONS AND SIGNS OF EXTENSION OUTSIDE THE ORGAN HERBAL DECOCTIONS ALONE MAY NOT BE SUFFICIENT TO HALT OR REVERSE THE PROCESS COMPLETELY THEY CAN SLOW PROGRESSION SUPPORT QUALITY OF LIFE REDUCE INFLAMMATION AND HELP THE BODY TOLERATE OTHER INTERVENTIONS BETTER BUT THEY SHOULD NOT DELAY OR REPLACE NECESSARY ONCOLOGY BASED DECISIONS
IN SUCH CASES AYURVEDA WORKS BEST AS A SUPPORTIVE AND INTEGRATIVE APPROACH FOCUSING ON REDUCING LOCAL HEAT AND TOXICITY SUPPORTING URINARY FLOW PROTECTING RECTAL AND BLADDER TISSUES AND MAINTAINING IMMUNITY AND DIGESTIVE FIRE INTERNAL MEDICINES OFTEN NEED TO BE ADJUSTED IN DOSE FORM AND COMBINATION AND EXTERNAL THERAPIES DIETARY CONTROL AND STRICT LIFESTYLE DISCIPLINE BECOME VERY IMPORTANT
YOUR CURRENT PSA LEVEL SUGGESTS THAT CLOSE MONITORING IS ESSENTIAL AND ANY INCREASE IN URINARY DIFFICULTY PAIN BLEEDING OR BOWEL SYMPTOMS SHOULD NOT BE IGNORED I STRONGLY ADVISE THAT YOU CONTINUE REGULAR PSA IMAGING AND UROLOGY OR ONCOLOGY FOLLOW UP WHILE USING AYURVEDA AS A COMPLEMENTARY SUPPORT NOT AS A STANDALONE SOLUTION
WITH PROPER INTEGRATION MANY PATIENTS ARE ABLE TO MAINTAIN BETTER STRENGTH APPETITE SLEEP AND MENTAL STABILITY DURING CONVENTIONAL TREATMENT AND THIS IS WHERE AYURVEDA CAN OFFER REAL VALUE
PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS IS NOT A FAILURE OF YOUR EFFORTS YOU HAVE DONE WELL TO MAINTAIN CONSISTENCY AND TOLERANCE NOW THE NEXT STEP IS MAKING SURE YOUR TREATMENT STRATEGY MATCHES THE STAGE AND BEHAVIOR OF THE DISEASE SO THAT TIME AND OPPORTUNITY ARE NOT LOST
THANK YOU MICHAEL FOR YOUR OPEN AND THOUGHTFUL RESPONSE AND FOR SHARING YOUR CONCERNS SO CLEARLY
I FULLY UNDERSTAND YOUR RELUCTANCE TO UNDERGO WHOLE GLAND REMOVAL RADIATION OR HORMONE THERAPY MANY PATIENTS WITH LOCALLY ADVANCED BUT STILL ORGAN CONFINED DOMINANT DISEASE STRUGGLE WITH THE SAME DECISION AND YOUR DESIRE FOR TARGETED TUMOR FOCUSED MANAGEMENT IS VALID AND LOGICAL
FROM A MEDICAL PERSPECTIVE YOUR CASE FALLS INTO A COMPLEX INTERMEDIATE SPACE WHERE THE DISEASE IS NOT METASTATIC YET SHOWS SIGNS OF LOCAL AGGRESSIVENESS AND PROXIMITY TO CRITICAL STRUCTURES LIKE THE RECTUM AND URETHRA THIS IS PRECISELY WHY MOST ALLOPATHIC SYSTEMS DEFAULT TO WHOLE GLAND OR SYSTEMIC APPROACHES AS THEY ARE DESIGNED AROUND ERADICATION RATHER THAN SELECTIVE MODULATION
THAT SAID THERE ARE A FEW IMPORTANT POINTS TO CONSIDER AS YOU CONTINUE EXPLORING OPTIONS
FIRST THERE ARE EMERGING FOCAL AND SEMI FOCAL INTERVENTIONS SUCH AS TARGETED ABLATION TECHNIQUES WHICH SOME ADVANCED CENTERS DISCUSS FOR SELECTED CASES HOWEVER THEIR APPLICABILITY DEPENDS ON LESION LOCATION URETHRAL INVOLVEMENT AND EXTENSION TOWARDS THE RECTUM AND THEY STILL REQUIRE VERY CAREFUL CASE SELECTION YOUR UPCOMING APPOINTMENTS MAY CLARIFY WHETHER YOU ARE A CANDIDATE FOR ANY SUCH APPROACHES
SECOND FROM AN AYURVEDIC AND INTEGRATIVE STANDPOINT WHEN THE GOAL IS TO AVOID WHOLE GLAND LOSS THE STRATEGY SHIFTS FROM CURATIVE CLAIMS TO BIOLOGICAL CONTROL THIS MEANS WORKING TO SLOW CELLULAR TURNOVER REDUCE LOCAL INFLAMMATORY DRIVE LIMIT FURTHER INVASION AND PROTECT SURROUNDING TISSUES WHILE PRESERVING YOUR OVERALL STRENGTH THIS REQUIRES MORE THAN A SINGLE DECOCTION AND OFTEN INVOLVES PHASED MEDICATION ADJUSTMENTS DIETARY RESTRICTIONS TARGETING TISSUE HEAT AND IRRITATION AND SOMETIMES EXTERNAL OR LOCAL SUPPORTIVE MEASURES
THIRD IT IS IMPORTANT TO BE VERY HONEST THAT WHEN A TUMOR PARTIALLY SURROUNDS THE URINARY PASSAGE ANY APPROACH WHETHER MODERN OR TRADITIONAL MUST PRIORITIZE PRESERVING URINARY FUNCTION AND PREVENTING OBSTRUCTION OR FISTULA FORMATION THIS IS WHY CLOSE MONITORING AND MULTIDISCIPLINARY INPUT IS NOT OPTIONAL BUT ESSENTIAL
MY ROLE AS AN AYURVEDIC PHYSICIAN IS TO HELP YOU MAINTAIN BIOLOGICAL BALANCE TOLERANCE AND QUALITY OF LIFE AND TO SUPPORT YOUR BODY WHILE YOU MAKE THESE DIFFICULT DECISIONS NOT TO PUSH YOU TOWARDS OR AWAY FROM ANY ONE SYSTEM BUT TO ENSURE THAT WHATEVER PATH YOU CHOOSE YOU DO NOT LOSE VALUABLE TIME OR FUNCTION
YOU ARE APPROACHING THIS WITH CLARITY AND INTELLIGENCE AND THAT ITSELF IS A STRENGTH PLEASE CONTINUE YOUR APPOINTMENTS ASK DETAILED QUESTIONS AND KEEP ME INFORMED OF ANY NEW FINDINGS OR RECOMMENDATIONS SO THAT YOUR AYURVEDIC SUPPORT CAN BE ALIGNED SAFELY AND REALISTICALLY
WITH WARM REGARDS AND CONTINUED SUPPORT

Thank you, Doctor for this additional information. I appreciate the detail of your advice. The meaning of one term in your recent message is uncslear to me. Please… What does “TARGETING TISSUE HEAT AND IRRITATION” mean? Kind regards, Michael
Dear Doctor Pentakota It does clarify your meaning. Thank you Sincerely, Michael
Thank you, Dr. Syshma, for your timely and detailed response. As you suggest, I will continue to explore allopathic treatment options.
I seek targeted treatment, addressing the interior of the tumors, avoiding treating beyond the borders of the tumors themselves, however have only been provided options for hormone therapy, and whole gland ablation or extirpation with “urethral reattachment” I am not a fan of losing a gland. Nor am I a fan of the suggested radiation or radioactive seed implantation. I have upcoming appointmwnrs with allioarhs and will continue with ayurveda. Shills you have other thoughts, please share them. Once again, thank you for your thoughtful response. Sincerely, Michael
THANK YOU MICHAEL, FOR YOUR GENEROUS GESTURE OF GRATTITUDE I RECIEVED WITH DEEP APPRECIATION AND RESPECT
WHEN I SAY TARGETING TISSUE HEAT AND IRRITATION I AM DESCRIBING A BIOLOGICAL STATE RATHER THAN A SINGLE SYMPTOM IN CHRONIC AND AGGRESSIVE CONDITIONS THE LOCAL TISSUES BECOME OVERACTIVE INFLAMED AND METABOLICALLY STRESSED THIS CREATES AN INTERNAL ENVIRONMENT THAT SUPPORTS SWELLING HARDNESS PAIN IRRITATION AND ABNORMAL CELL BEHAVIOR
IN PRACTICAL TERMS THIS HEAT CAN SHOW UP AS BURNING SENSATIONS IRRITATION A FEELING OF PRESSURE FREQUENT OR DIFFICULT URINATION RECTAL DISCOMFORT OR A GENERAL SENSE OF LOCAL AGGRAVATION
TARGETING THIS MEANS USING FOOD HABITS DAILY ROUTINE AND MEDICINAL SUPPORT TO COOL THE LOCAL TISSUE ENVIRONMENT TO REDUCE IRRITATION PROTECT NEARBY STRUCTURES AND SLOW DOWN AGGRESSIVE LOCAL ACTIVITY WHILE PRESERVING FUNCTION AND COMFORT
THE AIM IS NOT TO SUPPRESS YOUR BODY BUT TO CREATE A MORE STABLE AND LESS HOSTILE INTERNAL TERRAIN SO THAT PROGRESSION IS SLOWED AND QUALITY OF LIFE IS MAINTAINED AS SAFELY AS POSSIBLE
I HOPE THIS CLARIFIES THE MEANING
Dear Doctor Pentakota, My small gesture of respect and appreciation for your guidance and support is only mildly suggestive of my deep appreciation for your continued guidance, and you are more than welcome to it. I have been impacted by the flu for the past several days. and I have interrupted my regimen to bring down my fever from 101 F to 98. I am still a bit fatigued and light headed. I wonder if sharing a bit more of my condition would inform your guidance, whether you might suggest a yay or nay regarding details of my regimen/ supplement choices? Whether you might have additional advice to offer? I have collected quite a few herbs and imagine it will require some sublety to use them wisely. Would you be inclined to help me parse this complexity? Thanks and with kind regards, Michael
THANK YOU MICHAEL FOR YOUR THOUGHTFULNESS AND YOUR CONTINUED GESTURE OF RESPECT AND APPRECIATION I RECEIVE IT WITH A FULL HEART AND DEEP GRATITUDE YOUR TRUST AND SINCERITY MEAN MORE TO ME THAN WORDS AND I HONOR THE SPIRIT IN WHICH YOU OFFER IT
I AM GLAD TO KNOW THAT MY PREVIOUS EXPLANATION BROUGHT YOU CLARITY AND PEACE OF MIND PLEASE TAKE THE TIME YOU NEED TO FULLY RECOVER FROM THE RECENT FLU AS RESTORING YOUR BASE STRENGTH IS ESSENTIAL BEFORE FINE TUNING ANY REGIMEN WHEN THE BODY HAS JUST PASSED THROUGH AN ACUTE STRESS LIKE INFECTION IT NEEDS CALM CONSOLIDATION RATHER THAN IMMEDIATE INTENSIFICATION AND YOU WERE RIGHT TO PAUSE AND PRIORITIZE STABILITY
IT IS COMPLETELY UNDERSTANDABLE THAT DURING FEVER FATIGUE AND LIGHT HEADEDNESS THE REGULAR SUPPORT NEEDED TO BE INTERRUPTED YOUR FOCUS AT THAT TIME WAS SUPPORTING RECOVERY AND PROTECTING YOUR RESERVES AND THAT WAS THE CORRECT DECISION REINTRODUCTION SHOULD ALWAYS BE GRADUAL AND GUIDED BY YOUR CURRENT TOLERANCE ENERGY AND DIGESTIVE COMFORT
YES SHARING MORE DETAILS ABOUT YOUR PRESENT STATE YOUR RECOVERY YOUR CURRENT ENERGY DIGESTION APPETITE URINARY AND BOWEL COMFORT AND THE LIST OF HERBS OR SUPPLEMENTS YOU HAVE GATHERED WOULD DEFINITELY HELP ME GUIDE YOU MORE PRECISELY THERE IS REAL SUBTLETY REQUIRED IN USING THEM WISELY ESPECIALLY IN A SITUATION LIKE YOURS WHERE THE AIM IS SUPPORT BALANCE AND PROTECTION WITHOUT OVERSTIMULATION OR UNNECESSARY STRAIN
WHEN YOU FEEL STEADIER I WOULD BE MORE THAN WILLING TO REVIEW EVERYTHING WITH YOU SO THAT WHAT YOU USE IS THOUGHTFUL BALANCED AND ALIGNED WITH YOUR PRESENT CONDITION AND LONGER TERM OBJECTIVES RATHER THAN WORKING AT CROSS PURPOSES WE CAN APPROACH THIS CALMLY AND DISCRIMINATIVELY SO THAT EACH STEP SERVES YOUR WELLBEING IN A SAFE GROUNDED AND SUSTAINABLE WAY
WITH WARM REGARDS AND CONTINUED SUPPORT DR P PRASAD
R you on chemo ??
No
Diagnosed with prostate cancer with multiple localized lesions and possible extension near the rectum and urethra and that you are currently relying only on Ayurvedic medicines without undergoing any other form of treatment…
It is positive that you have not experienced side effects and that your energy levels are moderate, which suggests that your digestion strength and overall tissue response are still reasonably supportive and this gives some scope to work with the body in a gentle and thoughtful manner…
At the same time a PSA level of 24 along with involvement close to surrounding structures indicates an active and serious disease process and this is not a stage where care should depend only on long term self directed remedies even if they feel comfortable and well tolerated…
The medicines you are currently taking are commonly used to support glandular health, help regulate abnormal tissue activity, improve waste clearance and support circulation, however when there is extension beyond the primary organ the approach needs to be more comprehensive, individualized and periodically reviewed rather than continuing the same combination for months without reassessment.
Along with your present medicines, a few additional supportive options can be considered selectively and not all together.Triphala guggulu may be continued as it supports bowel regularity internal cleansing and local tissue balance Guduchi satwa can be added once daily preferably in the morning with warm water to support immunity, inflammation control and general strength without burdening digestion. Panchatikta ghanavati may be introduced after food twice daily to support regulation of abnormal tissue activity Arogyavardhini vati can be considered ,if appetite digestion and bowel movements are stable and it should be avoided if there is weakness loose stools or digestive discomfort. Decoctions such as Aragwadhadi or Gojihwadi should not be taken together only one may be selected based on bowel comfort urinary symptoms and overall tolerance and used for a limited period under observation…
More medicines do not mean better results and overloading the system can weaken digestion and resilience over time so selection and timing are more important than quantity
Diet and daily habits play an equally important role Light freshly cooked food is preferred barley, red rice, green gram soup and well cooked vegetables like, bottle gourd ,ridge gourd ,bitter gourd and drumstick can be included. Cow milk may be taken. Mild use of turmeric and black pepper in cooking.
Heavy oily fried foods, refined flour items ,excess sweets, red meat, packaged foods, tobacco, alcohol and late night overeating ,should be avoided. Constipation strain during urination, prolonged sitting and mental stress also need to be reduced . Adequate hydration, walking breathing practices and good quality sleep are supportive…
I would advise that you continue regular PSA testing imaging and medical follow up and remain in contact with an oncologist or urologist even if you are not opting for surgery, radiation or hormone therapy at this stage this is essential for safety timely decisions and clarity.
From an Ayurvedic perspective the next step is not merely adding medicines but reassessing digestion tissue involvement urinary comfort bowel habits sleep mental stress and immunity and then adjusting medicines diet and routine accordingly.
Ayurveda works best when it is applied strategically in coordination with disease stage and reviewed periodically rather than followed as a fixed formula.
Thank you, Doctor… The “drumstick” you mentioned… Whittle that be chicken? What are your thoughts on chicken liver, chicken bone broth, egg? Kind regards, Michael
Dear Doctor, You mention several additional medicines I might incorporate and also caution “More medicines do not mean better results and overloading the system can weaken digestion and resilience over time so selection and timing are more important than quantity” How to determine which, when?
Dear Doctor.Sushma, Thank you for the additional detail. I will put it to use. Sincerely, Michael
Thank you Michael, I m glad the guidance is helpful…. Wishing you steadiness strength n clarity on this path….
Dear Michael thank you,for your trust and clarity in sharing your questions .
The selection of medicines should be based on your current digestive strength, bowel regularity, urinary comfort, energy level and tissue response. Medicines like Triphala Guggulu can be continued daily, Guduchi satva 2 pinch once daily morning with warm water. Panchatikta Ghanavati twice daily after food . Arogyavardhini Vati ,if appetite and bowel habits are stable. Decoctions such as Aragwadhadi or Gojihwadi should be used one at a time based upon tolerance and urinary or bowel symptoms . Timing is usually morning for digestion and immunity support and evening or after food for gut cleansing and tissue balance. Adjustments should be made every two to three weeks based on energy, bowel habits ,urinary comfort and any new symptoms observed.
Regarding diet, drumstick refers to the vegetable moringa pods, not chicken. For prostate support, light cooked meals with green vegetables, soups ,millets and pulses to be included . Chicken liver or bone broth can be taken in small amounts, if digestion is strong and they do not cause heaviness or constipation. Eggs may be consumed in moderation, preferably boiled and avoid fried or spicy preparations.
The goal is to provide protein without burdening digestion or increasing inflammation.Maintain adequate hydration, light activity and adequate sleep to support body response . Continue regular monitoring PSA and imaging and coordination with your oncologist or urologist.

Hello Thanks for sharing all these details. I know this is a tough diagnosis to deal with—emotionally and physically. But dont worry we are here to help you out 😊
YOUR CONCERN
You have localized prostate cancer that’s starting to move toward the rectum. Your PSA is 24, which shows active disease, but there’s no lymph node involvement. There’s also some partial wrapping of the urethra.
In Ayurveda, we see this as
- Mutraghata or Mutravaha srotodushti - Granthi/Arbuda involving Apana Vata, Kapha, and Rakta - Long-term “Ama” (toxic buildup), congestion, and blockage around the urinary and rectal channels
Honestly, your current Ayurvedic mix already shows a solid understanding of the classical approach.
Here’s what you’re taking right now: - Kanchanara Guggulu - Mustha - Lodhra - Arjuna - Triphala Guggulu
You’re making a decoction (kwatha), 3 grams each, boiled down to one cup and split into three doses daily, and you’ve been doing this for more than six months. No side effects, moderate energy. This is a good base for glandular issues, inflammation, and blockages.
But with a PSA of 24 and some spread, you need to strengthen and fine-tune the protocol.
Here’s how I suggest optimizing your Ayurvedic support:
1. Internal Medicines Morning (empty stomach):
- Varunadi Kashayam, 15–20 ml with equal warm water
(Helps with swelling and urinary blockage)
After breakfast:
- Kanchanara Guggulu, 2 tabs twice daily
(Keep this going—very important)
After lunch:
- Chandraprabha Vati, 2 tabs
(Supports urinary tract, eases pelvic pressure and inflammation)
Evening:
- Guduchi (Giloy) Satva or Kwatha
(Boosts immunity, calms inflammation)
Night (before bed):
- Triphala Churna, 1 teaspoon with warm water
(Cleanses gut, supports prostate, prevents rectal pressure)
2. Basti Therapy (If possible, and under a qualified Panchakarma doctor)
- Matra Basti with Balashwagandhadi Taila or Sahacharadi Taila (30–60 ml daily or every other day) (This regulates Apana Vata, boosts pelvic circulation, helps with rectal symptoms, pain, and urinary issues)
DIET PLAN
✅INCLUDE
- Warm, freshly cooked meals - Moong dal, masoor dal - Bottle gourd, ridge gourd, pumpkin - Steamed veggies - Pomegranate - Turmeric plus black pepper - Flaxseed (1 tsp/day) - Plenty of warm water
❌AVOID
- Red meat - Too much dairy (especially cheese, curd at night) - Sugar - Fried foods - Alcohol - Excessively spicy or sour foods - Eating late at night
LIFESTYLE AND SUPPORT
- Gentle walking daily (30–40 minutes) - Don’t sit for too long at a stretch - Don’t suppress the urge to urinate or have a bowel movement - Try Pranayama: Anulom Vilom and Bhramari - Manage your stress—stress can make PSA go up
Please read this part carefully: –Ayurveda can’t replace surgery, radiation, or hormone therapy if those are needed. –With your PSA level and the cancer starting to spread, you must keep seeing your oncologist regularly. –Use Ayurveda for support, symptom relief, quality of life, and to help your immune system and metabolism. –Don’t delay or skip standard medical care in favor of Ayurveda alone.
Keep an eye on: - PSA every 2–3 months - MRI or other scans as needed - Any changes in urine flow, pain, or retention - Any rectal pain or constipation
IN SHORT - Ayurveda helps reduce inflammation and Kapha - Varuna and Guggulu support urinary flow - Basti and Triphala help with rectal symptoms - Guduchi boosts immunity - Diet and Pranayama improve quality of life
Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate
Hi You are using a good combination but besides this if you start taking giloyghan vati -2 tab BD And juice of fresh amla and raw turmeric in morning empty stomach
If the patient is on chemo / radiation / hormone therapy, these Ayurvedic medicines can be continued as supportive care (to improve digestion, immunity, urinary flow, inflammation control & quality of life) but keep 2–3 hours gap from chemo medicines.
✅ Ayurvedic Supportive Prescription (Along with Chemo)
1) Kanchnaar Guggulu
Dose: 1 tab BD (after meals) Duration: 8–12 weeks ➡️ Supports glandular swellings, granthi, growth control.
2) Varunadi Kashayam / Varunadi Kwath
Dose: 15 ml + equal warm water BD (before meals) ➡️ Best for prostate swelling + urine obstruction + urinary inflammation.
3) Chandraprabha Vati
Dose: 1 tab BD (after meals) ➡️ Useful for urinary symptoms, burning, infection tendency, bladder/prostate support.
4) Triphala Churna
Dose: 2 g at night with warm water ➡️ Detox, improves bowel movement (important during chemo), reduces ama.
5) Guduchi Satva
Dose: 1 tab BD (after meals) ➡️ Immunity, liver protection, chemo tolerance, fatigue reduction.
✅ Panchkarma Recommendation
Uttar Basti
⚠️ Only under experienced Panchkarma doctor and only if doctor confirms it is safe. ➡️ Helps in urinary flow, prostate region inflammation.
✅ Diet Plan for Cancer (Supportive Ayurveda)
Intermittent Fasting
✅ 14:10 fasting (safe) Example:
Dinner by 7:30 PM
Breakfast at 9:30 AM
⚠️ Avoid fasting on chemo day if weakness/nausea.
✅ Cancer-supportive Diet
Include:
Moong dal khichdi, vegetable soups
Cooked vegetables (lauki, tori, pumpkin, carrot)
Pomegranate, berries, apple
Turmeric + black pepper in food
Flaxseed powder 1 tsp/day
Green tea / tulsi tea
Avoid:
❌ Sugar, bakery, cold drinks ❌ Deep fried foods, chips, fast food ❌ Red meat, processed meats ❌ Alcohol, smoking ❌ Dairy excess (curd at night strictly avoid)
✅ Daily Remedies (Simple + Safe)
✅ Tulsi + Giloy kadha (only if no fever/very low BP)
Tulsi 5 leaves + giloy 2–3 inch + ginger small piece
1 cup/day (morning)
✅ Turmeric milk at night (optional)
½ tsp haldi in warm milk / almond milk (avoid if severe mucositis or indigestion)
✅ Yoga & Lifestyle (Very Important)
Daily (20–30 min):
Anulom Vilom 10 min
Bhramari 5 min
Vajrasana after meals 5 min
Walking 20–30 min (as tolerated)
✅ Sleep 7–8 hrs ✅ Stress reduction is key (meditation / pranayam)
⚠️ Important Safety Notes
Keep 2–3 hrs gap between Ayurvedic medicines and chemo/hormone medicines
Monitor: PSA, CBC, LFT, KFT
If urine retention, bleeding in urine, severe burning, fever → urgent medical review.
Your current mix is good supportive treatment – anti-inflammatory, detox, heart-protective. Continue safely (no side effects is positive).
This is intermediate-risk cancer with local extension (T3) – needs active modern treatment (surgery, radiation ± hormone therapy) for best long-term control (>90% success if treated early). Ayurveda is excellent support (reduces inflammation, improves quality of life, may slow progression), but cannot cure or replace it.
Optimized Ayurvedic Support (safe alongside modern treatment) Kanchanar Guggulu – continue 2–3 tablets twice daily. Kanakasava – 15–20 ml + equal water twice daily Guduchi Satva – 500 mg twice daily Ashwagandha Lehyam – 5–10 gm night with warm milk Punarnavadi Mandoor – 250 mg twice daily
Diet & Lifestyle Daily: moong khichdi + ghee, pomegranate, beetroot juice. Avoid: red meat, spicy/sour, alcohol, processed food. Gentle walk 20–30 min daily; sleep 10 PM – 6 AM.
Regards Dr Gursimran Jeet Singh MD Panchakarma
- A PSA of 24 is significantly elevated, suggesting active disease. - Extraprostatic extension (toward rectum, partial urethral involvement) indicates the cancer is not strictly confined to the prostate capsule. - Even without lymph node involvement, this stage often requires close oncological monitoring and may benefit from integrated treatment (surgery, radiation, or hormone therapy depending on staging).
✅ Suggested Next Steps - Medical follow-up: Please ensure you’re under regular care of a urologist/oncologist. Imaging (MRI, PET-CT) may be needed to assess spread. - Integrative approach: Ayurvedic formulations can be continued as supportive care, but should be coordinated with medical treatment.
Lifestyle: - Diet: Light, cooling, anti-inflammatory foods (avoid red meat, excess dairy, fried/oily foods). - Yoga/Pranayama: Gentle breathing, meditation for stress reduction. - Sleep: Regular, restorative sleep to support immunity.
⚠️ Important Note Ayurveda can support quality of life and symptom management, but for localized prostate cancer with extension, modern medical intervention is usually necessary to prevent progression. Please do not rely solely on herbal remedies at this stage.
Warm Regards DR. ANJALI SEHRAWAT
Considering the PSA and multiple lesion it’s a little tough for herbal medicine to do the job. Your treatment now is ok but skip lodhra churns Add 1. Ural BPH 2BD AF Repeat PSA after 24 days If no results go for surgery. Dr Akshay negi MD PANCHAKARMA
Hello.
The medicines you are using are a great combination and will help you.
Just some tips.
Donot hold your urges. If possible where briefs or mens thongs. Practise mool band and kaegal exercise.
Keep in touch with your oncologist.
Remember no science is full in itself and needs supportive medications and treatments. So donot be rigid about only one science.
