When dealing with sensitive, acne-prone skin—particularly oily skin with blackheads and whiteheads—traditional Ayurvedic wisdom offers some compasionate and thorough methods worth trying. In Ayurveda, acne often relates to an imbalance in Pitta dosha. Here are some tailored suggestions:

First thing in morning, try consuming a glass of warm water with a small teaspoon of honey and juice of half a lemon. This can help purify your blood and pacify Pitta. Remember, stay hydrated but avoid excessively cold water.

Garner benefits from herbs like neem and turmeric. These are renowned for their anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Neem powder mixed with water can be used as a face pack. Do this twice a week. You can mix a pinch of turmeric with yogurt, apply it on your face, and wash it off after 15 minutes.

A simple home remedy for blackheads is using a mix of nutmeg and milk. Apply it on blackhead-prone areas, let it dry, scrub gently before rinsing off. This helps in cleansing and unclogging the pores. Be gentle – avoid pressing too hard.

For diet, stick to fresh, homecooked meals avoiding overly spicy, fried, or processed foods. Incorporate cooling foods like cucumbers, melons, and leafy greens. Consider incorporating more coriander and fennel in your meals that help in cooling the Pitta dosha. Avoid fermented foods as they increase heat in the body.

Ensure regular bowel movements; constipation can worsen skin issues. An overnight soaked teaspoon of triphala taken before bed with warm water often helps regularize the bowel. Moderate exercise like a 30-minute walk daily can improve circulation and help manage stress.

Finally, remember to manage your stress as high cortisol levels can exacerbate acne. Practice deep breathing exercises or meditation daily, even if just for 5 minutes.

Check in with a professional Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized advice, especially if you have ongoing or severe skin conditions. If no improvement or if symptoms worsen, then seeking conventional dermatological care might be necessary.
