Premature greying of hair at 17, while concerning, can be addressed, especially with Ayurvedic practices. However, it's important to remember that reverting it naturally may take time and consistency, and results can vary. Let's dive into it. First, understanding hair greying through Ayurveda involves exploring dosha imbalances. Typically, premature greying, relates to an imbalance in Pitta dosha. It's vital to pacify this through diet and lifestyle. Your use of raw curry leaves and sesame with castor oil is beneficial and aligns with Ayurvedic principles. Curry leaves are rich in antioxidants and can aid in maintaining hair health. Continue this practice but consider combining it with other methods for a more robust approach. Include Amla (Indian Gooseberry) in your diet. Consuming it fresh or as amla powder mixed with water can nourish hair fibres and may slow down greying. Amla oil application on the scalp weekly can also be helpful. Stress plays a big role in Pitta imbalance. Incorporate regular relaxation techniques into your routine. Practices like meditation, yoga, or even simple deep-breathing exercises can help. A Pitta-pacifying diet is key—favor sweet, bitter and astringent tastes. Include whole grains, greens, dairy, and cooling herbs. Incorporating ghee can also be useful. Avoid spicy, oily, and overly salty foods. Moreover, try Bhringraj oil for scalp massage. It's traditionally used in Ayurveda to balance doshas and support hair pigmentation. Warm the oil slightly and massage it into the scalp before washing your hair. Leave it for at least an hour or overnight. Ensure proper sleep and hydration as these are fundamental but often overlooked factors. While Ayurveda can offer some relief, it’s crucial to understand that genetic and other factors also play a role. Progress might be gradual and partial, but sticking persistently to this regimen should support your hair health in the long-run.
