Addressing perennial allergies with Ayurveda involves understanding your unique constitution and balancing the doshas, which can help alleviate your symptoms. Since your primary issues seem related to sneezing, itching, and other symptoms that resemble Kapha and Vata imbalances, we can take a closer look at remedies that can restore this balance. Begin by implementing a daily routine that helps stabilize your energy levels and immune response. Nasya, or nasal administration of medicated oils, is beneficial for clearing nasal passages and reducing allergic reactions. Anu taila is commonly used for this and should be applied every day, preferably in the morning, after brushing your teeth and washing the face. Just a few drops in each nostril can help reduce itching, sneezing, and runny nose over time. For your diet, it is vital to minimize foods that aggravate Kapha and Vata. Favor warm, cooked, and easy to digest foods. Avoid cold, raw, and overly oily or heavy foods. Incorporating spices such as ginger, turmeric, and black pepper into your meals can help enhance digestion and reduce allergy symptoms. Herbal support can also be beneficial; Haridra (turmeric) and Tulsi (holy basil) are known for their anti-inflammatory and immune-modulatory properties. They can be taken daily in the form of tea or powdered supplements. Consume ½ teaspoon of Turmeric powder mixed with warm milk once or twice daily. To support lowering your IgE levels, it may require patience. Typically significant improvements can be seen within few months, but this depends on dedication to routine, dietary changes, and lifestyle modifications. It is also important to address stress, as it can exacerbate allergy symptoms. Practicing yoga or meditation regularly can soothe the nervous system and help. Remember this is a natural approach, complementary to any treatments you may already be receiving. Do consult an Ayurvedic practitioner to tailor these recommendations according to your specific constitution and needs. Always ensure to take immediate medical attention if symptoms aggravate or lead to severe reactions.
