which fruit is good for hair growth and thickness - #23476

Lillian

I am having a bit of a hair dilemma lately. My hair feels so thin and lifeless, and I'm worried I might start losing it if I don't do something soon. I've tried a bunch of products, but I wonder if there are more natural ways to help. One day, I was chatting with a friend who swears by certain fruits for hair growth and thickness, but I couldn't catch the names of them! I read somewhere that vitamin C is important, and I’m curious, which fruit is good for hair growth and thickness? I was thinking about making smoothies with different fruits, but I'm not really sure which to pick. Banana is my go-to, but I think I read avocados are also great? Is it just a myth, or can fruits really make a difference? I feel like I should just eat healthy anyway, but if I can target foods for my hair, that would be amazing! What do you guys recommend — any specific fruits I should definitely include in my diet for better hair? Thanks a ton!

If you’re looking for fruits to help with hair growth and thickness, you’re on the right track. Many fruits can be great allies in nourishing your hair due to their rich nutrient profiles. When considering Ayurveda, we understand the importance of balancing doshas and strengthening dhatus, specifically the asthi (bone tissue) and majja (nervous tissue) dhatus which can influence hair health.

Let’s start with Amla, or Indian gooseberry. It is especially revered in Ayurveda for promoting hair growth. Amla is high in Vitamin C, an antioxidant that helps increase scalp circulation and strengthens hair follicles. Try consuming fresh amla if availabe, or find it in powder form to mix in your smoothies or warm water. You can consume a spoonful in the morning on an empty stomach for optimal benefits.

Next, Bananas are great choice as they are rich in potassium and natural oils that make hair soft and manageable. You can eat one banana daily to maintain your hair’s elasticity, preventing breakage. As you mentioned, they blend well into smoothies, making it easy to incorporate into your diet.

And yes, Avocados are incredibly beneficial too. They’re technically a berry, and they’re packed with fatty acids and Vitamin E, which nourish the scalp and support healthy hair growth. You can add half an avocado to your smoothies or salads for added nourishment.

Oranges are another Vitamin C powerhous that helps with collagen production, ensuring your hair stays strong. Their juice or sliced sections can be a refreshing addition to your diet.

Pomegranate can also be included for its iron and antioxidant content, helping improve blood circulation to the scalp. Incorporate the seeds into a salad or a smoothie bowl.

While Vitamin C is crucial, ensure your diet is balanced with proteins, healthy fats, and hydration to see comprehensive results. Hair reflects the internal health, so addressing lifestyle factors can be equally important. Eat these fruits regularly, but remember, it could take a little time before you notice tangible changes, so consistency is key.
