how to use moisturizer in tamil - #25902

John

I am trying to figure out how to use moisturizer in Tamil because I’ve had really dry skin lately, especially since the weather changed. I mean, I never had probs before, but now my face feels like a desert! My friend suggested some natural stuff, but I just don’t know what to apply and when! Do I put moisturizer on after washing my face? Like, I wash my face and then slap it on? I tried that a couple of times but felt like it didn’t really work. Also, how to use moisturizer in Tamil, like, what are the steps? Is it better to use it at night or in the day? I get confused with all these different tips. Also, am I supposed to use it on my body or just my face? Sometimes I feel like I’m applying too much, but I don’t want to go dry again. Anyone can share their experiences? Please help!

Applying moisturizer correctly can indeed enhance its effectiveness, especially for your dry skin concern. While you’re navigating various advice and suggestions, here’s a practical approach rooted in both Ayurvedic insight and common practice.

In Tamil, “moisturizer” can be referred to as “Nemidhi Amaithudhal.” Let’s start with the steps on how to apply it:

Firstly, Ayurveda emphasizes the importance of cleansing this should be done gently without stripping natural oils, so use a mild cleanser suitable for your prakriti (constitution). After washing your face, gently pat it dry; ensure the skin is slightly damp, as this enhances the moisturizer’s ability to be absorbed.

Now, time to apply the moisturizer. Take a small amount, about the size of a coin, maybe slightly more if your skin feels particularly dry. Gently warm it between your palms, and apply it in upward circular motions on your face. This helps in stimulating circulation. Be sure the moisturizer you choose is compatible with your dosha type — for vata (dry, rough) skin, a thicker, more nourishing moisturizer with sesame oil or almond oil base is often recommended.

As for when to apply, it’s beneficial to moisturize twice daily: once in the morning and once before bed. This helps maintain moisture throughout the day and provides nourishment at night when the skin repairs. Nighttime application should be slightly thicker, as your skin will absorb it while you rest.

Regarding your body, any part that feels dry can benefit from a moisturizing routine. Ayurvedic practice often includes applying oil before a bath. You can use natural oil like coconut or sesame and follow up with a light moisturizer post-bathing for added moisture retention.

Don’t stress over exact quantities; your skin will gradually adapt. If it’s feeling too oily, you might want to scale back, if still dry, it might need a tad more. Allow your skin to guide you.

Remember, consistency is key. An irregular application might not yield the desired results, so try to maintain a routine that fits into your day comfortably. Drink plenty of water and consume a diet rich in healthy fats like ghee and nuts to support skin hydration from within.

If dryness persists or worsens, consider consulting an Ayurvedic physician to tailor a regimen specific to your needs or look into any underlying causes.
